Emir Preldzic

Post#1 » by likwitdesi » Thu Feb 18, 2010 2:54 am

So we got this guy's rights as a part of the Jamison trade. Does anyone know anything about him? From what I understand, he is a decently athletic point forward who was his team's #1 option last year.

sounds pretty promising

seems like a young (still raw) european jamison (but replace rebounding with passing). phoenix drafted him but he was included in the shaq trade.

Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new but shorter version of Oleksiy Pecherov!
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

What's his NBA comparison. You know how Pecherov was supposed to be a Nowitzki/Okur hybrid lol.

He is sort of like Toni Kuckoc mixed with a touch of Jack Palance. He's that awesome.

It would be hilarious if this guy became an All-Star while Hickson is a career backup

I am from Slovenija, so i can tell you little bit more about Emir..
He is way above Pecherov, as he is a starter for two years now on very solid euroleaguean team.. He play 1 2 3 4 in Europe, but he would mostly play at 3 for you i guess.,. He has quite a lot of Hedo in himself..A good balhandler, ok shooter, only too skinny for now.. This guy could really surprise you

He'll never play here is my guess, but Ernie couldn't resist stashing another Euro.

Closg00 just hates our general manager, he doesn't actually have anything against Emir.

Sounds like he is a tweener finesse small forward who can pass but can't hit the long jumper, good defensive ability but gambles for steals.

Shooting 25% from euro three, ugh.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

 Seriously though, does anyone here actually expect to see this guy ever? It certainly would be worth bringing him over in the future and having him play on our SL team.

I understand, I just want to make sure we don't get into a land war in Slovenia over 'matters of honor'.

You can imagine that a country with 2,000,000 people is going to feel pretty protective of their guys.

He'll never play in a Wizards' uniform. If he was a promising prospect, he wouldn't have been throw into the trade package.

Preldzic is nothing special...has talent and nice all around game and his game is a poor man version of Dejan Bodiroga...the best European player in his time 10 years ago. He has similar game, but will be nothing close when at his peak. Hard to compare him to any player in nba...His biggest deficit is he is not athletic, would have hard time playing defense against opposing sf in NBA. As a poster mentioned is better suited for european game.
