Ryan Boatwright article

First off, I just wanna throw out that unless I've forgotten how to read, or lost all reading comprehension, this paragraph...

So, because of the NBA’s refusal to make any kind of substantial investment in amateur basketball, Boatright has no choice but to attend an NCAA institution to become a professional basketball player. With dozens of quality 22-year-old college guards coming into the D-League each season, why would an NBA team bother to take a chance on one who didn’t follow the conventional path?

Made zero sense. Basically said "NBA doesn't want short basketball players so they have no choice but to play professional basketball"? Umm...what?

Which brings me to another main point, it seems the writer of the article present the idea that unless a college basketball player makes it to the NBA, he has no hope for a career. Are they not getting a college education? Why not use that thing that most people pay thousands of dollars to get to have a career? What a novel idea.

Not to open the can of worms of "student vs. student athletes" and how NCAA uses these kids, but this article was pure garbage in the sense that it was almost a slander campaign the way it portrayed players as some kind of poor slaves. Please. Get real, let them come work a 40 hour a week job and live pay check to pay check.
