West Coast Conference adds BYU

The WCC just added BYU to the mix in basketball. Along with Gonzaga, St. Mary's, and a rising LMU team they seem to have a very solid upper echelon of the conference that can consistently compete for tourney spots. There are bottom feeders who all seem to have gotten marginally better this past offseason. When BYU arrives after next season into a relatively young conference, it could be really competitive and could have alot of parity among the teams.
Any thoughts on the future of the WCC?
Also any thoughts on possibly adding Seattle to the conference and really creating a larger more nationally publicized conference? Seattle has great facilities and is in very good breeding ground for recruits.

As a general rule I hate conference realignment. But BYU mixing it up with Gonzaga and St. Mary's is definitely intriguing. Too bad for the Mountain West though.

I wouldn't feel that bad for the MWC. New Mexico, UNLV, and SDSU are all expecting postseason berths this year. TCU is headed in the right direction for once. With the arrival of Nevada and Fresno St it should add some competition to the league. Fresno St. always seems to be carrying an NBA prospect or two but they never seem to click. From Dominic McGuire, Quinton Hosley, Sylvester Seay, Paul George, and now Greg Smith, Fresno St. always has the potential to be a solid team. Nevada has been dormat the past couple of years since Nick Fazekas left but they are still producing quality players. They have had decent to pretty darn good teams and they are young. In two years when they join the MWC, they will have a pretty solid team. Devonte Elliott and Deonte Burton are freshman who are going to surprise people. If they can get back to Nevada of the past few years (Luke Babbitt, Armon Johnson, Ramon Sessions, Nick Fazekas, JaVale McGee, Marcellus Kemp) then I think they will be a better addition to the MWC than BYU was, basketball wise that is. Some BCS teams don't produce six NBA prospects/draftees (however fringe they are) in 6-7 years like Nevada has.
