I would've liked to see him play, but I agree with the decision. Thoughts?

Huge shocker there. I mean you are telling me that he didn't receive money to play at some point? Everyone was speculating this decision anyway with the exception of a confident Coach Cal.

You should hear all the butt hurt UK fans around here who try to say he should play. It's pathetic.

He is paid sadly. His NCAA career is finished before start. Huge blow for a star. He should play for a European team and at least improve himself. There is no better option as far as i see now.

How is it a huge blow? It's a bummer if he wanted to go back, but as far as stardom goes...he will still be a lottery pick this year for the NBA, pretty sure that will do more for his stardom than returning to UK

First of all, I am recommending he should return to Europe for a Euroleague top16 team. He is sitting away now, just practising and not having any game experience. I think it will be bad if he start directly to his NBA career without having any experience in NCAA or in Europe. So, as we all see his NCAA career is over, and I think he should come to Europe and play some basketball. He need experience or he will struggle a lot in NBA.

Euroleague top16 team?? Do you think that he has got level enough to play 15 or more minutes in a Top16 team?? I think no. (I meant teams that play in a competitive league, not Zalguiris or Partizan, for example.
With all due respect for these teams.)
In my opinion, he should go to play in Europe, but in a low team in ACB (Manresa, Granada...) or a mid-table team in Italy (Bologna, Caserta...) or Turkey (Turk Telekom, Pinar Karsiyaka...).
He needs to play a lot of minutes and in a TOP16 team he probably don't have much minutes.

Excuse me for my English.

Well for me yes. He is a good player. According to my understanding, he should think about bigger plans. He should see the toughness of Euroleague. This would be a really good opportunity for a young player. If he is in basketball shape, i guess he can play 10-15 minutes for a Euroleague team. He has a rare rebound talent, he can fit to european basketball.

I agree with you. How about the Adriatic League?

He has no experience as a professional player and today is not a player who can contribute much to this level.
TOP16 is the most important of the season for many teams and I do not think of wasting their limited options in a young man who probably only going to be on the team over 6 months.
Now, those teams sign players to improve the roster and especially to provide experience to the team.
For example: Jasikevicius to FenerbaƧhe, Batista to Caja Laboral, Alan Anderson to Barcelona, Flip Murray to Efes Pilsen ...

I do not like this league for players with big plans.
Wages are low and the level of the league, exception of 2 or 3 teams and a couple of players on other teams is not very high.
He would play a lot of minutes in this league, but not at a high level.
There are better options for him.

Henk Norel will be out the rest of the season and DKV Joventut are looking for another player.
It is a good team that works very well with young players.
It would be the perfect choice. Good league, good team and he would have minutes.

He's a top 7 pick in the draft if he does nothing. I'd do nothing.
