The worst of D1 teams vs the best of D2 and D3

How do you think they compare?

I'm blanking on his name but there is an Asian walk on at UCLA who transferred and became a star for a D2 school (UCSD). He didn't dominate at the D2 level but he played good minutes and was the lead guy for them... or one of the lead guys.

I know someone else who is going to make an impact at MIT (D3) but was offered a walk on/deep bench role at Princeton.
