Older players in college

Bit of a back story, I'm from Australia and I'm 23 years old. A coach of mine thinks I can generate some interest and still have a good chance of being able to play over at a US college. At the same time I do have a few offers to play here and earn some money in the National league/ 2nd tier (off season) leagues. I'm just a bit concerned that it would be weird me kicking around college at the age of 24-27 playing against much younger guys.
I was just wondering what the general thoughts are on older players competing in college competition are. Do people look down older players. Would nobody think twice about it? Have there been many players to do it before?
Thanks

If you're serious about it, go for it. Who cares if you're a little bit older than the other players? It's not like you're past your physical prime or anything.
Weighing the pros and cons of trying to play NCAA ball in the US versus playing semi-professional or professional ball in Australia isn't really something I can give advice on. But I do know that you don't want to be one of those people reminiscing about "what could have been," when it comes to your athletic career, especially if you have a passion for your sport.

Usually, D1 players are 25 and under. I know of some D2 players that are 28 etc. Really older.
As for the original poster, I would say go for it if you can get an offer. If you plan to play pro, it may hurt you to stay in school for four years when you come out at 27. (because that is probably around your physical prime)

Absolutely go for it. It will be great for your play and you will get a better reputation if you come back to Australia.

You will have the time of your life. I would be all over it. Plus you have a serious unfair advantage when it comes to freshman women. Older, athlete and accent. That's pretty much a pussy trifecta.
