If he wants success, he needs to play most of his minutes at PF.

Cross racial comparison between white guy and black guy?

well he's more of a gym-rat with higher iq than Glen Rice . He's not as much of an athlete either but he's deceptively quick and will make great hustle plays .

Probably a more pure shooting Jamison with less defensive rebounding ability.

He can have a Kyle Korver like career and impact and I see him growing more offensively in the mid-post area. His defence is the main question heading into the league.

Kyle Korver with a scorer mentality instead of a spot up shooter mentality.

Absolutely disagree. He cannot defend at the NBA level against either forward spot and his rebounding is not good enough to really be a starting quality 4 unless he were playing next to Prime D12 anyway. He's a great college player, but he'll be at best a rotation player on a good NBA team, or a starter on a mediocre/bad team.

I agree, but the biggest difference, he's slower and less agile than Korver. McDermott is strictly an undersized 4, while Korver is a wing. That limits him in the NBA

I suppose if he ends up on a team with good team defensive principles, he'd be able to blend in moreso than being relied on as a man defender. Fit will definitely be key with this guy.

A littler poorer version of Rashard Lewis when he was playing for Orlando?

If you have to compare a white guy with Korver or Redick it should be Stauskas. He could be a sharpshooter in the Nba with decent ballhandling and passing skills.

Every GM missed the boat on Parsons, a guy perfect for today's NBA who should have been a lottery pick. McD isn't quite as athletic as Parsons but he's a very high IQ guy and his craftiness will get him by in today's NBA which is full of dummies. He'll be a very nice stretch 4 in the league. He'll have a ton of space to do his thing as a 3rd/4th option on a good team. Obviously not a star but should be a quality starter.

Defense is a concern but who cares about rebounding, nowadays teams prefer extreme transition defense vs crashing the offensive boards. There are a ton of 4's in this league that are atrocious rebounders.

Don't know where he should get picked, probably late lottery.

He won't be able to get in the lane in the pros. He already struggles with it in college. All his points in the paint are on cuts. Those little flip shots will get swatted into the stands because he lacks the length and athleticism. He has a place in this league, but I don't think its more than a bench player. He's going to get roasted on defense.

I love Mcdermott heading into the draft .... worst case he is Kyle Korver imo.

Potential top 5 career for this draft class but probably a top 10
