Preseason top 25

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Sun Oct 2, 2016 3:24 pm

According to Jon Rothstein

1. Duke

The Skinny: Mike Krzyzewski has the team to beat — again.

2. Villanova

The Skinny: No Omari Spellman, no problem.

3. Kansas

The Skinny: Death, taxes, and Bill Self at Phog Allen Fieldhouse.

4. Xavier

The Skinny: Edmond Sumner is a volcano just waiting to erupt.

5. Kentucky

The Skinny: People will be comparing Bam Adebayo to Blake Griffin by Christmas.

6. Wisconsin

The Skinny: The Badgers return over 99.0 percent of their scoring from last year’s team that reached the Sweet 16.

7. Oregon

The Skinny: Dana Altman’s squad is more talented than it was a year ago — seriously.

3 elite teams this year on paper. A healthy Duke is on a tier by themselves in my biased opinion, but my 3 elite teams are Duke, Kansas and Kentucky. Im keeping an eye on Oregon, they should be better this year, but not sure how good they really were last year because of how big of a down year it was for college ball. I got Villanova in the 2nd tier, Josh Hart is a stud, but they lost two of their key players from last years team and their 5 star freshman isn't going to play this year. So I just don't see them having the horses to keep up with the Blue Bloods at the top.

Yeah a healthy Duke squad is nasty to say the least. Big man rotation alone is pretty crazy.

after what he did to Moses Moody's name, I got DJ K. Perk in a Verzuz battle against ANYBODY

I have very high expectations for this year's Oregon squad. I think they could make some serious noise. I think the Pac 12 will be very strong top to bottom as well. Arizona should spend quite a bit of time in the top 10 this season, UCLA has a solid squad, Colorado will have a big year IMO. Utah and Cal each lost a lot, but they'll both still be in the picture as well.

North Carolina will easily be #1 seed come tourney time after beating Duke last night and they have an excellent ACC tournament. For the second year in a row, the ACC is the best basketball conference and I expect 9 teams from the ACC to make it in the big dance.
