I've been sharing historical Street & Smith's Top 20 Best High School Players lists from the 80's on Twitter. I thought some here might like these as well. If the thread would be better suited for another Forum section, feel free to move. Hope y'all enjoy!

must be true about "talent-based" careers(arts, sports etc), that my instructor once said and 3-5% will achieve what you're trained to do.

great stuff......... thank you...\

wasn't kenny anderson one of the most acclaimed HS players ever? i think he and lew alcindor were the best 4 year NYC HS players ever.

the old street and smith's always makes me think of Ben Wilson sp? from Simeon High in Chicago. i remember his photo and profile from before he was shot... don't get me wrong, there was nothing revolutionary about his basketball game before he died (unlike after... the kurt cobain effect) but it was very sad as people seem to speak very highly about as a person

pro basketball stardom seems to correlate far more highly with HS evaluation than football. maybe because they play real games against the other top players all the time. of course, there are exceptions but your stars usually come from way way up the recruit lists in basketball.
