What do you guys think about Trae Young?

Post#1 » by bhudson421 » Sat Dec 30, 2017 2:30 pm

I think he has been the best player so far. No one saw this coming. I've watched him against Oregon, and he really impressed me against Wichita State. I wrote a small blog about his season so far...let me know if you think someone else has been better.

I think he's a cross between Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf and Avery Johnson. He's got just as good NBA range as Steph Curry. He's both a superior shooter and he has great court vision.

In this era which values three point shooting and spacing; Trae Young will at worst be a solid NBA starter. He's an unselfish player with an extremely high basketball IQ. I referenced Abdul-Rauf and Johnson and do note that neither of those guys were tall or athletic, per se by NBA standards. (Avery was very strong and Mahmoud had a very quick release).

He's a top-5 pick. Arguably, he could be the number one pick IMO. I would NOT want to have to choose between Young and anybody after Bagley or Ayton. Even with the two great big men, what if this guy Trae Young turns out to be better than Mark Price, better than Steve Nash, etc???
Bye bye Beal.

he sees the basket like curry. ie, he always knows where the basket is,,,it's a radar sense of it.
i think he should be top 3 but he's mocked in the middle of the lottery. he's not as glib with the basketball as curry, which is a good thing.
he's the first curry clone and ther'll be many more in the years to come. i think kids are honing this ability to "shoot without looking" if you know what i mean.

I think that he aint stupid and he will take the money instead of risk an injury or a worse season than this one. He has a chance to get picked high in NBA draft and the guy is going to take it. When he comes to NBA though he is going to have problems, big problems and you may quote me. He will be one of those guys that will need to adjust and train his body well if he has any hope making it.

I think he has potential to be a top shelf elite offensive player.

From Lubbock because his dad played for the Red Raiders, but wound up with OU. He's the NBA's version of Baker Mayfield.

Yes, I also see a resemblance definition to Curry.
I think he is a promising basketball player.
