i had never looked at RPI before...
but a couple of the mid-major or less darlings this year have RPI's far better than sagarin/kenpom/etc.... buffalo for one.
anyway, looked up RPI and its based on your record, your opponents record and your opponents opponents records.. very easily gamed in scheduling....basically play lesser teams that play mediocre teams that play awful teams...... apparently the MVC, which has been arguably screwed in past at NCAA tourney time, has mastered this.
basically doesn't seem to take into account score differential over more complex algorithm........
