NCAA Fix your horrible refs.

Post#1 » by adjacent2bench » Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:24 am

I know this thread is Men's Basketball dominated, but did anyone see Tennessee vs Rutgers in the final seconds?

What's sad is that they actually reviewed the play. These refs seem to be scared of the big time coaches like Pat Summit and Coach K. That just messes up the whole NCAA system. Horrible officiating, horrible time keeping.

That Georgetown vs Villanova game had a horrible ending as well.

Both were terrible endings. Neither Rutgers nor Villanova deserved that. I have a real problem with refs not being held accountable for their terrible game changing calls. The guy in the Nova game should be canned immediately.

JT3 even looked sick about it, and he was the winning coach.

I'd almost be more afraid of C. Vivian Stringer than Pat Summitt, even though both are very high on the list.

Either way, yes, refereeing is dreadful this year, and the Pac-10 (like in football) has the worst refereeing of any conference.

That Rutgers game was possibly the worst single ending to a game I have ever seen. I don't know how the refs messed it up that badly with the benefit of replay.

The Georgetown foul call was also terrible. There was more contact as Nova's player went to the basket than there was on the sideline as the clock expired. However, the Rutgers/TN matchup was significantly worse, IMO.
