Which college basketball player is greatest of all time?

Is he as widely accepted as Jordan in the NBA?

It would probably be players who played for some of the great UCLA teams.

Kareem and Bill Walton both had amazing careers at UCLA. Kareem's included an 88-2 overall record and 3 titles, Walton's an 88-game winning streak and 2 titles. Both won 3 national player of the year awards. Kareem still holds a lot of UCLA records despite the fact players could only play for 3 years then.

I'd probably put Kareem over Walton because his numbers were better, but I think Walton played on better teams.

Yep, Lee Alcindor has to be #1, but it's definitely not clear cut. Walton is a near #2.

With that said though ... man, Shaq doesn't belong near the top of the list, but I don't think I've ever seen someone dominate like he did. Watching 4 little college players wrapped up around him was just hilarious, especially considering they still couldn't stop him.

Kareem, but Laettner was pretty good in college. But unlike Kareem/Lew, he never panned out.

Pistol Pete and Kareem at #2.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Lew Alcindor, later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and he's more widely accepted than Jordan in the NBA.

Lew Alcindor wins this pretty easily. They outlawed the dunk when he was in college because he was so dominant. He responded with the skyhook.

Actually, he responded with layups. He used the skyhooks when his shot was in danger of being blocked.

Disagree with your #1 incredibly strongly. Your 2 & 3 are otherwise right on.

Lew, Walton, Oscar, Maravich, Ewing and Laettner are all in consideration, but it has to go to Lew Alcindor.
