Not good news, despite the reports that he will coach through it. Even though I'm anything but a UConn fan, you have to respect the guy for his contribution to basketball. Best of luck to Calhoun!

Best wishes to coach Calhoun. Just watching the Eastern Conference Finals and watching Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton go at it made me think of Calhoun all series long. If you would've said 20 years ago that UCONN would become THE preeminent Big East basketball program you would've been laughed at. UCONN was the absolute bottom of the food chain back in the mid 80's when Calhoun took over. Georgetown, Syracuse and St. Johns were all at their peak and Villanova, Pitt, Seton Hall and Providence were all worlds ahead of little old UCONN. Get well soon, Cal. You got a legit Final 4 contender next season.

He's done so much for the game and this is just another test he's going to get past.

Maybe the Huskies can dedicate the season to Jim Calhoun. :)
