I apologize that this came out rather late. But, here is a thread for game discussions!

Gonzaga gets upset by Portland St.....huh? Well, point guard Joey Dominguez controlled the tempo of the game and Washington transfer Phillip Nelson had a heck of a game as well to upset the Zags.

I'm sure PNF is in his glory right now.

Don't look now....Pitt is outrebounding GTown by 30 and killing them. This is a statement at Georgetown.

I would say UNC may have their hands full......

Shocking upset win for St. Johns over ND! Great win for this rising program. Throw Lance into the mix and return Mason Jr and you have a competitive tournament team.

December game thread? :D Anyway, I got to see I-State for the first time this season tonight. Eldridge is gonna win MVC player of the year hands down. Oguchi was in foul trouble in the first half but got hot in the 2nd half. The Drake comparisons are natural, although the Redbirds don't shoot the ball nearly as well as Drake did last year. Drake was just an offensive juggernaut. And I-State is a little smaller as well. But I-State is quicker and more athletic and plays much better defense than Drake. Tim Jankovich (a Bill Self disciple) could very well go the way of Keno Davis at the end of the year and on to a major conference somewhere.

P4P, that's awesome that you caught a glimpse of them. I think that it is a tight race for POY in the Missouri Valley. It will probably go to either Oguchi or Eldridge barring some team eclipses them at some point during the year. Other candidates include Shy Ely, who I got a chance to see play against North Carolina. Solid all around player. Also, P'Allen Stinnett of Creighton and Josh Young on Drake will be in the running. That's an interesting race imo.

As for team prowess in the Missouri Valley, Illinois St has really gotten off to a hot start, crushing Evansville and beating Creighton by a large margin at home. They face a very tough road game against Bradley which really could mix things up and hurt Illinois St's shot at an at large. Given, I believe that they are most definitely a top 20 team in the country right now and are not getting any respect. The Missouri Valley is one of the toughest conferences and should be respected as so. I see it as a definite two bid league this year, with an outside shot at a third, barring a tough conference slate.

Evansville has a somewhat difficult road closing out the season. A couple of road games against tough conference foes and a home game against Illinois St.

ND/Georgetown tonight. Two teams coming off really disappointing games.

Ooh, Penn State knocks off Purdue, Arkansas takes out Texas. That's victories over Oklahoma and Texas in consecutive weeks for the Razorbacks. Looks like a favorite may have just emerged in the SEC West. And the Nittany Lions are VERY underrated. They probably should've beaten Wisconsin last week too. Also, Illinois State falls at Bradley. Good win for Jim Les and the Braves. You don't come by wins easily on the road in the Valley.

He played well. Looked like an NBA prospect. But he needed to be a lot more active out there.

Oregon State upset USC and Hahhhhvahd upset BC. Joy to all ye nations rise.

EDIT: Also, it's Jeremiah Dominguez, not Joey. Know him. Love him. Embrace his short stature and quick release.

Amazing game between Cal and Washington. Cal prevails in triple OT by 3 on the road with Jerome Randle fouling out in the 3rd OT. 4-0 now for Mike Montgomery in the Pac 10.

Big East player of the year. Best PG in America.

i went to oklahoma states game last night, they looked good, not sure how good they'll be in the grand scheme of things (they had a fairly easy non-conference schedule) but hopefully they can at least make the tourney. take a lot of 3's though (live or die by them) and they'll give up a lot of height in most games

but travis ford is hilarious to watch on the sidelines, he's so animated, one time it got real quiet and everyone around me heard him yell to one of our players, "you big piece of sh*t" and immediately took him out

That's ridiculous. Last year's Big East Player of the Year has only improved this season. 24.5 points, 12.7 rebounds. In less minutes than Flynn.

We'll see. Especially if Syracuse stays near the top of the Big East and Notre Dame continues to struggle with St. Johns and Seton Hall. Much respect to Harangody though, a truly great player. But Flynn has put his team on his back down the stretch of several Cuse victories already this season, particularly against Kansas and Rutgers. He's willing his team to victory every time they take the floor.

Louisville cranked that D up something fierce down the stretch. Harangody was great as usual. But too much pressure defense and Terrence Williams for the Irish to handle in OT.

I'm not going to be biased on this- Flynn has really willed his team to victory. But, I personally feel that Levance Fields has been the most impressive performer so far. While he isn't as explosive an offensive threat, his passing has been outrageous and he is playing good defense. If Pitt dominates the Big East, you have to give him consideration.

Toss AJ Price's name in there, and you really have a tough race for the guard slots on the first team all big east.

Candidates: Levance Fields, Johnny Flynn, AJ Price, Jerel McNeil, Scottie Reynolds, Dominique Jones, Jeremy Hazell, Eugene Harvey, Dominic James, Tory Jackson, Mike Rosario, Kyle McAlarney, Deonta Vaughn, Chris Wright, Austin Freeman, Weynimi Efejuku.

That's loaded!
