South Florida?

Post#1 » by Wiscfan92 » Thu Feb 4, 2010 4:30 pm

Thought I'd create a thread about South Florida becuase they've been beating ranked oppenenets as of late. And with March right around the corner I'm trying to figure out if this team is a cinderella story, or just getting lucky?

I see South Florida as an NIT team this year which is a great accomplishment. Next year they should be able to finish in the upper half of the Big East. Outside of Mike Mercer and Chris Howard, who have been great at times but also horrible, they will return everyone. Dominique Jones will probably be the best player in the Big East next year and they return an outstanding frontcourt in Gilchrist and Famous. Fitzpatrick should be much improved and Ron Anderson will be around to help the frontcourt. Point guard play will be a priority, I'm not sure if Anthony Crater is a Big East caliber guard and Lavonte Dority most likely won't be ready to contribute. Jones will need help in the backcourt and Noriega and Burwell need to be ready to contribute.
I predict USF will make the NCAA tournament next year.
