Yes, that is what I was assuming. Look what happened with Hibbert, Green, and now Summers. I expect him to stay for more than one season with a commitment to winning. He has to develop more of a game on the block, and John Thompson III will offer that sort of training.

Tyler Hansbrough over BJ Mullens? Sure Tyler is a much better player right now, but come on, he has "bench player" written all over him. Mullens' upside is a bigger Amare. He may lack a lot of polish right now, but he's only ever played high school ball, and true 7 footers with his ridiculous athletic ability, great frame/body, and great hands are very, very rare. If you've never seen him play, this footage gives you a decent idea of just how athletic he really is, even if he is just dunking on midgets:

Yes, I knew the aforementioned pick would spark a few comments. It's all about predictions, and I am simply predicting a scenario that could happen. Fact is, this does not have much merit until the season starts.

Well, I disagree that Tyler has bench player written on him. That said, my mock has him way higher than he has ever been ranked.

I highly doubt Hasheem Thabeet falls that far. I may be a UConn fan, and I'm probably just being a little biased here, but Hasheem Thabeet would of been a lottery pick this year, and next year, barring an injury, he should be a lot better.

Even if he is, he will not have deserved the pick. The guy lacks basketball fundamentals and will struggle against players with better athleticism and basketball instincts. I watch him regularly as well, and I have noticed the strides in his game. But is it really worth a lottery pick? Remember, early in this past season, DeAndre Jordan was slated as a top 10 pick and so was Nicolas Batum. Prospects can slide from head to head workouts and potential injury concerns not to mention a lack of consistent improvement.

I tend to agree that he wouldn't deserve a lottery pick next year. Mullens and Ogilvy are the two i would figure to be the lottery center choices. 20 sounds about right, after all this does look like a guard NBA ready heavy draft

I think it all depends on his offensive game, if he shows some moves and progress he'll be a lottery lock, at the moment he's a defensive beast, great athlete and has soft hands.

It's been a while, but i thought i'd check in, Jman, i've heard a lot through the boards regarding DeRozan. Some people consider him to be the only lock in the upcoming draft. Any reason why he's at #7 on your board?

^^ I'd have to second that claim. Demar Derozan at 6'6" and 207 is as NBA ready shooting guard as they came and he's been nothing short of stellar in any of his appearances or performances and his potential is also sky high. I really doubt he'd drop below 3 in the draft.

The prediction simply was that Henderson and Harden would demonstrate that they were considerably more talented. I'm still not sure at this point, but it was a preliminary mock.

So far the top of my draft looks pretty good, aside from Hansbrough who hasn't played up to par because of an injury.

Green is really underrated at this point and Aminu should sneak in there. Blake is definitely going 1-2 in this draft. And, Harden is definitely looking better than DeRozan at this stage of the game.

Solid list, but Hansbrough lacks the size, jumper, and athleticism to be anything but a backup in the NBA. Heck, he does not really even have a go to post me. Like Sean May before him, he gets by on bullying weaker players. That style rarely translates to the NBA.

He works hard as a post defender despite being undersized. He can get down the floor...not lightning fast, but he can beat his man down the court. Guys like Craig Smith and Carl Landry have found some success. I don't see why Hansbrough wouldn't. Plus, he is skilled around the basket and can sometimes step out for the top of the key jumper.

Where I put him is certainly a stretch, but heck, I was simply trying to deviate from the ordinary in terms of the top of my order. (keeping in mind how skilled Tyler was last year, and if he could translate his game at all.......)

A guy being compared to Craig Smith and Carl Landry should be nowhere near a top 10. Both Landry and Smith are backups. I love Hansbrough the college player, but unless he can add a consistant jumper, he is a role player at best.

Neither of those guys were college basketball POY though. I was just refuting your statement about undersized strength big men not finding success in the league. I think he has been demonstrating a decent jumper, and I have little doubt that he can develop it considering his work ethic.

Wow, I sort of put the jinx on DeRozan and Mullens. Oops!
