I think the Hawks are more likely to take Lawson at 19, he is a better overall player, and more likely to start. Bibby is an unrestricted FA, Law has fallen out of favor and I expect Marvin Williams to sign the QO and play at least one more year with the Hawks. OTOH, if the Hawks pick a SG/SF like Budinger I would take it as a sign that the Hawks are seeking S&T options for Marvin.

Update - 06/16/09

1. LA Clippers - PF Blake Griffin
2. Memphis Grizzlies - C Hasheem Thabeet
3. Oklahoma City Thunder - SG James Harden
4. Sacramento Kings - PG Ricky Rubio
5. Washington Wizards - PG Stephen Curry
6. Minnesota Timberwolves - PG/SG Tyreke Evans
7. Golden State Warriors - PF Jordan Hill
8. New York Knicks - PG Jonny Flynn
9. Toronto Raptors - SG Demar Derozan
10. Milwaukee Bucks - SF/PF Earl Clark
11. New Jersey Nets - PG Jrue Holliday
12. Charlotte Bobcats - SG Gerald Henderson
13. Indiana Pacers - PG/SG Jeff Teague
14. Phoenix Suns - PG Brandon Jennings
15. Detroit Pistons - SF/PF James Johnson
16. Chicago Bulls - C BJ Mullens
17. Philadelphia 76ers - PG Ty Lawson
18. Minnesota Timberwolves - SF Austin Daye
19. Atlanta Hawks - PF Dejaun Blair
20. Utah Jazz - PF Tyler Hansbrough
21. New Orleans Hornets - PG Eric Maynor
22. Dallas Mavericks - SG/SF Terrance Williams
23. Sacramento Kings - SF/PF Chase Budinger
24. Portland Trailblazers - PG Rodrigue Beaubois
25. Oklahoma City Thunder - PG Patrick Mills
26. Chicago Bulls - PG Darren Collision
27. Memphis - SF Dejaun Summers
28. Minnesota - SF Omri Casspi
29. LA Lakers - PG Toney Douglas
30. Cleveland - SG Wayne Ellington

After Hill's comment saying the Warriors will take him if he's there, I put him at 7, then the Knicks take Flynn at 8. Milwaukee chooses Earl Clark at 10 to replace Charlie (I believe Sessions will be their "pick"), New Jersey get stuck in an unfortunate place in terms of fit players so they take the BPA Holliday and figure it out later (maybe trade down for Johnson or Blair), Mullens' top 16 promise gets him to Chicago, Minny takes an interesting SF prospect to fillout their lineup, Hawks take Blair to potentially replace Smith.

Kings take Casspi at 23 and LAWAL withdrew from the draft. Kings have no interest in Chase Budinger.

Yeah, Hill is looking like a pretty likely pick for GSW at this point. I don't agree with it, but it's the most likely.

29. LA Lakers - PG Toney Douglas
30. Cleveland - SG Wayne Ellington

The top of this draft has sort of gone into a tailspin for me after the Thabeet comments and the rumors of Sac not liking Rubio.. Evans has apparantley impressed everyone so much in workouts that combined with the Tigers connection, I actually have Memphis trading down for him over like Jordan Hill. I've decided the Sac-Rubio talk is just bull and smokescreens

For the good Doc

Former duke alum Bilas

ESPN analyst and Duke alum Jay Bilas prefers Louisville's Terrence Williams over the Blue Devils' Gerald Henderson.

Charlotte could be choosing between Williams and Henderson when they are called upon to use the 12th overall pick.

Bilas says that Williams is bigger, stronger and more versatile than Henderson, who he believes is a better shooter.

6/25/09 - Final Mock

1. LA Clippers - PF Blake Griffin - No surprise tonight... Sorry Blake.

2. Memphis Grizzlies - C Hasheem Thabeet - Rubio saying he's ok with Memphis and Thabeet saying he's not throws a spin on this. But I still think they just like Thabeet more and are looking for a big man.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder - PG Ricky Rubio - Seems rather set all of a sudden. Presti will make it work, if anything Rubio might be the guy to keep while Westbrook is traded eventually. I'm really jealous of the Thunder. At worst I think the Thunder pick Rubio and trade down

4. Sacramento Kings - PG Jonny Flynn - They are apparantley looking for a PG. Could still pick Evans but he's definitely a SG, so I don't know why that'd work any more than if they took Harden

5. Minnesota Timberwolves - SG James Harden - They should be thrilled he fell this far. Perfect fit as a scorer in their backcourt

6. Minnesota Timberwolves - PG/SG Stephen Curry - Should form a nice backcourt partner for Harden and will replace Foye. Again Evans is passed because he's a non-fit. Though it wouldn't surprise me if Minny took Evans/Curry. Either way I think Curry's a TWolf

7. Golden State Warriors - PF/C Jordan Hill - This one smells like a promise. Biedrins and Wright could both be on their way out while Randolph/Hill form the new frontcourt. Just a hunch.

8. New York Knicks - PG/SG Tyreke Evans - They wanted Curry, but Evans is a nice consolation prize. Not sure if he'll fit D'Antoni-ball but BPA is BPA

9. Toronto Raptors - SG Demar Derozan - They need young athleticism on the wings. There's a lot of Holliday, Johnson smokescreens but Demar appears to make the most sense

10. Milwaukee Bucks - PG/SG Jrue Holliday - The Amir trade makes me think they're not resigning both Sessions and Charlie. If they keep just Charlie, Holliday steps in as a PG replacement

11. New Jersey Nets - SG Gerald Henderson - I still can't read the Nets but they need a young SG and apparantley like Henderson. I hate Rod Thorn

12. Charlotte Bobcats - SG Terrance Williams - Appears to be promised. I wonder if Chad Ford will slander him on the air too.

13. Indiana Pacers - PG Brandon Jennings - Another team that's hard to grip, but Jennings is too talented to pass up here. I could see them trading down or up though. Jennings in Atlanta makes a lot of sense to me...

14. Phoenix Suns - C BJ Mullens (to Oklahoma City) - This is the one trade I'm pencilling in (#14 for Phx's 2010 1st returned). Phx wants to blow up, plus this saves them immediate money. OKC apparantlely likes Mullens. Their fetish for tall athletic guys who don't know how to play basketball wasn't left behind in Seattle it appears

15. Detroit Pistons - SF/PF Earl Clark - BPA and he fits in their lineup.

16. Chicago Bulls - PG/SG Jeff Teague - Will probably trade but for now I'll say they draft Teague as a backcourt running SG partner to Rose and a backup PG once Hinrich is traded

17. Philadelphia 76ers - PG Ty Lawson - Pass-first PG who can shoot is what Philly needs

18. Minnesota Timberwolves - SF/PF James Johnson - They're still looking for their SF of the future if they take Curry and Harden or Evans at 5 and 6 so Johnson fits in

19. Atlanta Hawks - PG Eric Maynor - It appears Bibby is on the way out and you don't want to be starting JCraw at PG. Maynor would really help them next year

20. Utah Jazz - SF/PF Austin Daye - They could use some more wing contributers, especially if AK is traded

21. New Orleans Hornets - PF Dejaun Blair - I think the Hornets will sell, but Blair fits nicely and is the BPA here

22. Portland Trailblazers - PF Tyler Hansbrough - Original plan was to move up to take Casspi, but after Hansbrough falls this far they change their minds. They need a backup PF and Hansbrough is a contribute now guy

23. Sacramento Kings - SG/SF Omri Casspi - Petrie pick

24. Dallas Mavericks - SF/PF Chase Budinger - Good insurance if they trade Howard and a steal this late. I could see Budinger as the 5th starter on a 50 win headed Mavs team halfway through the season while a bunch of teams do facepalms

25. Oklahoma City Thunder - SF/PF Dajaun Summers - Best player on the table

26. Chicago Bulls - PF/C Jeff Pendergraph - They don't need any more guards or SFs so I'll give them a big

27. Memphis - PF Taj Gibson - They go for the best PF on the table

28. Minnesota - SF/PF Demarre Carroll - I don't know much about Carroll but his stock is apparantley hot and Minny needs SFs so this works

29. LA Lakers - PG Toney Douglas - AKA Fish 2, or he will be soon

30. Cleveland - SG Wayne Ellington - With Pavlocic gone they could use another swingman.
