#1 - Cleveland - Irving (PGOTF)
#2 - Minnesota - Williams (2ed best prospect)
#3 - Utah - Kanter (better long term player than Knight IMO)
#4 - Cleveland - Valanciunas (best big left on board)
#5 - Toronto - Knight (he fell, they pick him up)
#6 - Washington - Marcus Morris (skilled SF/PF to build around with Wall)
#7 - Sacramento - Walker (last proven player on board, potentially elite back-court)
#8 - Detroit - Vesley (skilled, scoring SF to build around)
#9 - Charlotte - Burks (potential franchise SG to rebuild with Augustine and Henderson)
#10 - Milwaukee - Klay Thompson (skilled SF, good balance to Mbah A Moute)
#11 - Golden State - Biyombo (defensive presence they need)
#12 - Utah - Freddette (young scorer)
#13 - Phoenix - Tristan Thompson (physical young big)
#14 - Houston - Motiejunas (skilled big to try and rebuild around)
#15 - Indiana - Brooks (best SG left on board)
#16 - Philadelphia - Markieff Morris (best shot at a physical big)
#17 - New york - Faried (defensive, do it all man, counter to Stat and Melo's offensive games)
#18 - Washington - Leonard (high upside SF to sure up their wing/forward spots this draft)
#19 - Charlotte - Vucevic (tallest player in draft, helps get a young big for their rebuild)
#20 - Minnesota - Tyler (think this is a reach, but he is highest potential big man left)
#21 - Portland - Darius Morris (true PG to back-up Miller)
#22 - Denver - Tobias Harris (SF, they aren't dependent on Chandler coming back)
#23 - Houston - Singleton (defensive SF, took a bit of a fall)
#24 - Oklahoma City - Hamilton (depth behind Durant, possibly BPA)
#25 - Celtics - Singler (ready to contribute player)
#26 - Dallas - Jujuan Johnson (athletic, offensive PF behind Dirk)
#27 - New Jersey - Honeycutt (SF, position of need)
#28 - Chicago - Shumpert (big athletic player, could compliment Rose in back-court)
#29 - Spurs - Bertans (high potential player, stashed for a year or two)
#30 - Chicago - Selby (hoping for a points off the bench type guard)

Re: What the heck - heres DBR's mock draft
Couple of things to note:
- Kanter going before Knight (better prospect)
- Marcus Morris going high (very skilled player, versatility could work next to Wall)
- Burks going high - potential to be an ISO player in the league bumps up his value.
- Motiejunas going in the lottery - Houston needs more young big men, Motiejunas has high potential.
- Tyler going in 1st round - hey its Kahn and there aren't many intriguing bigs left on my draft board at that point (generally bigs went early on my board)
- Jujuan Johnson goes a bit early, but Dallas has a need for a player like him when Dirk needs rest
- Shumpert fell a bit, maybe teams are higher on the guy than I am. Seems more like an athlete than a ball player.
Any other oddities?

The problem with taking Kanter and passing on Knight, is Utah would be crewed if Jimmer is gone before 12. They have bigs, yest most of which are really PFs, but imo it's debatable who is better Kanter vs Knight, but one is a far bigger need imo.
DeBlazerRiddem wrote:#6 - Washington - Marcus Morris (skilled SF/PF to build around with Wall)
Doubtfull imo. Not a wizards fan, but I live in the area and I've heard a lot about Leonard and Vesely, but that's about it. Kanter if he's available, but the growing belief is he won't be.
DeBlazerRiddem wrote:#7 - Sacramento - Walker (last proven player on board, potentially elite back-court)
I think Jimmer is a much better fit. For starters, Tyrek Evans dominates the ball, so adding a ball dominant PG is a mistake. Adding a PG that can play off the ball and has a skill that definately translates to this level, would be the smart move.
DeBlazerRiddem wrote:#17 - New york - Faried (defensive, do it all man, counter to Stat and Melo's offensive games)
My only problem with Faired is height. If he was 6-10 or 6-11, I'd take him (he'd likely be gone before we pick), but at 6-7/6-8, can he play on the court at the same time as Melo and Stat? IMO, no, cause stat would still have to guard the opposing teams big, which isn't good.

No way he last this long.

I am not impressed with Knight - don't think he has what it takes to be a starting PG in this league. Kanter has the potential to start at either PF or C - I think drafting him allows them to move Milsap or Jefferson for salary relief and value (easier to move a big for a couple smalls)

Maybe I am higher on Marcus than others. I think he could be a physical SF with a good long range shot which would make him a dream to pair with Wall. Leonard and Vesely are less proven IMO.

Jimmer could be a better fit, but Walker is a better player. Especially with the season Evans is just coming off of, I don't see any team taking Jimmer when Walker is still on board.

No, I agree it would be difficult to play all 3 of them at the same time. Faried would initially bring a ton of energy off the bench, allowing D'Antoni a variety of line-ups and a killer small-ball look. I thought New York was high on Faried and Selby, and since I project both to be available at their pick, I think they pick the bigger player.

I had a number of SF's falling in this draft. Not particularly impressed with them.
