1. New Orleans - Anthony Davis - PF/Kentucky - Davis is the clear-cut #1 overall pick.
2. Charlotte - Thomas Robinson - PF/Kansas - Bobcats opt to go big & safe and pair T.Rob w/ Biyombo.
3. Washington - Bradley Beal - SG/Florida - Young exciting back-court with Wall/Beal, great fit.
4. Cleveland - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - SF/Kentucky - BPA, great defender & transition running-mate for Kyrie.
5. Sacramento - Harrison Barnes - SF/North Carolina - Kings are rumored to be high on him, good fit.
6. Portland - Andre Drummond - C/Connecticut - could go Lillard here, but opt for potential and PG later.
7. Golden State - John Henson - PF/North Carolina - Anthony Davis-lite. Great shot-blocker, nice complement to Lee/Bogut.
8. Toronto - Damian Lillard - PG/Weber State - Replacement for Calderon and good value.
9. Detroit - Meyers Leonard - C/Illinois - Detroit would rather have Henson, but their need for another big coupled with Leonard's solid defense and relative value make him the pick here.
10. New Orleans - Kendall Marshall - PG/North Carolina - boosted D w/ Davis. now O w/ Marshall.
11. Portland -Jeremy Lamb - SG/Connecticut - Marshall/Lillard are off the board, go with Lamb to add a scorer and pair with Batum/LMA/Drummond
12. Milwaukee - Tyler Zeller - C/North Carolina - Bucks miss out on Henson & Leonard to replace Bogut. Zeller will be solid, if unspectacular.
13. Phoenix - Dion Waters - SG/Syracuse - may be his rumored "promise." Dynamite scorer, called the best scorer by some draftniks.
14. Houston - Austin Rivers - SG/Duke - The value will be too much to pass up here. Rivers can play a little point which may come into play as Lowry wants out and Dragic isn't a lock to return. This will also allow them to let
15. Philadelphia - Terrence Jones - SF-PF/Kenctucky - talented player who can play multiple positions, steal in the mid-round as he has lottery talent when he is focused.
16. Houston - Perry Jones III - SF-PF/Baylor - Potential-laden big who should be an improvement over Parsons/Budinger at SF and can play behind Scola at PF.
17. Dallas - Jared Sullinger - PF/Ohio St - San Antonio found DeJuan Blair who fell because of medical issues. Another Texas team finds a value PF as Sullinger falls out of the lottery, but will find himself as the first big of the bench in Dallas.
18. Minnesota - Terrance Ross - SG/Washington - Wolves are desperate for help on the wings, fit one piece in Ross who is athletic and can hit the 3pt shot.
19. Orlando - Moe Harkless - SF/St. John's - Magic are in a win-now mode, desperate to show Dwight they can compete. Harkless has a lot of potential but should be able to compete now at the same time.
20. Denver - Arnett Moultrie - PF/Mississippi St -athletic/talented big should fit in nicely in Denver.
21. Boston - Royce White - SF-PF/Iowa St - one of the top talents in the draft. Boston needs to go BPA.
22. Boston - Andrew Nicholson - PF/St. Bonaventure - Similar to White, a player who can come in and help right away.
23. Atlanta - Fab Melo - C/Syracuse - Horford isn't a true C, and looking at options moving forward their best bet may be in moving Smoove, playing Horford at PF and using Melo at C. Either way it gives them options moving forward.
24. Cleveland - Will Barton - SG/Memphis - Cavs are set at PG/SF/PF and have Varejao at C with no other C at good value here they go with the long, do-it-all scorer from Memphis.
25. Memphis - Quincy Miller - SF/Baylor - Grizzlies are a solidly built team and can afford to take a gamble that Miller returns to form.
26. Indiana - Marquis Teague - PG/Kentucky - Pacers need PG help, Teague played point for the nat'l champions and should battle with Collison for the starter's role.
27. Miami - Festus Ezeli - C/Vanderbilt - Miami's biggest need is Center, which is well-known. Ezeli is a solid college center who should be able to be a regular contributor as the Heat seek to repreat.
28. Oklahoma City - Jeffrey Taylor - SF/Vanderbilt - Taylor is underrated because of his age but he is one of the most athletic players in the draft and his shot is vastly improved. He will be a solid backup for Durant and the latest of home-runs in the draft for Presti.
29. Chicago - Tony Wroten Jr. - PG/Washington - Wroten is one of the most talented - if controversial - players in the draft. He can take over at point while Rose is out and should be able to take over as a slashing SG when Rose returns. Thibodeau should be able to straigten him out.
30. Golden State - John Jenkins - SG/Vanderbilt - best shooter in college basketball. Jenkins should be the third guard behind Curry and Thompson. A line-up of Curry/Jenkins/Thompson/Lee/Bogut for short-periods would be offensively potent and able to score in bunches.

Why would we take Waiters at 7? Why?

Re: [RCG]'s Mock Draft 2012
Waiters to Golden State makes no sense for a couple reasons:
1. We already have a young SG we like a lot in Thompson as well as a young combo guard who showed some promise down the stretch in Jenkins.
2. We traded away Monta Ellis, who a lot of people see Waiters' best case scenario as, because he wasn't a good fit with Curry (and our front office even admitted as much after the Bogut deal). So why do that then bring in a stylistically similar but less talented guy?
3. Our front office has been obsessed with adding size and defense ever since they took over. Waiters is the opposite of that. If the top 6 are all off the board in order (and I don't think they will be), then I expect us to draft a big man like Henson, Zeller, T. Jones, maybe even Leonard.
And with so many teams that could use a scoring SG (Toronto, Portland, Phoenix), why would you guess its one of the few teams that doesn't that made him a promise?

Thanks, I haven't followed Golden State closely. I thought that Waiters could be a dynamite 6th man and as Curry/Thompson are the only guards under contract while the Warriors have Bogut/Lee/Biedrins/Tyler for big men. But if that is the way the team is leaning I will revise!

Re: [RCG]'s Mock Draft 2012
Ross would be fine with me. Worry about his handle...but his shooting / athleticism would be a nice addition. Should be a good fit with Rubio to get open looks and dunks in transition.
