Dr. Positivity 2016 mock draft - Top 60

1. Philadelphia 76ers - SF Brandon Ingram: Simmons is the favorite to go #1 for most teams but for Sixers the fit with Okafor, Noel, Embiid is too poor, Hinkie would have done BPA anyways, not sold Colangelo era Sixers do

2. L.A. Lakers - PF Ben Simmons: I give a darkhorse chance for Buddy Hield to climb up and pass one of Simmons or Ingram, but for now, best bet on the top 2 staying the same

3. Phoenix Suns - PF Dragan Bender: In most cases I'm betting on Hield solidifying #3 spot but Phoenix is now building their team around Devin Booker. Phoenix trying a Booker/Hield backcourt is not out of the question (Booker averaging over 5 assists in March). For now Bender provides upside and team fit

4. Boston Celtics - SG Buddy Hield: Celtics believe they can get a superstar out of this pick

5. Minnesota Timberwolves - SG Jamal Murray: TWolves beat writer Darren Wolfson has been tweeting about Murray and Hield a lot, less frequently Dunn and Valentine. It all points towards G > PF for TWolves priority

6. New Orleans Pelicans - SF Jaylen Brown: I don't know what they do but with Brown they can be sold on the upside beside AD, fits positional needs more than e.g. Dunn

7. Sacramento Kings - PG Kris Dunn: 7 or 8 is probably close to his floor and can't draft Poeltl, Dunn gives them attempt at dribble drive star

8. Denver Nuggets (via New York) - PF Domantas Sabonis: Another team that can't draft Poeltl and has several other positions looking good going forward. Nuggets have had success with international born players

9. Toronto Raptors (via Denver) - C Jakob Poeltl: With Biyombo's UFA this summer Toronto will likely only keep one of him or JV, Poeltl can thus fill a need for backup C next year

10. Orlando Magic - PG Wade Baldwin IV: Elfrid Payton's stock appears to be getting pretty low in Orlando, Baldwin's shooting is a better fit beside Oladipo

11. Milwaukee Bucks - SG/SF Timothe Luwawu: Bucks continue down the road of having a long armed, very versatile switching team

12. Utah Jazz - SG/SF Denzel Valentine: Gives them a shooter who can fill in one of the wing positions behind Hood and Hayward, possibly play some PG

13. Phoenix Suns (from Washington) - SF Taurean Prince: Hard pick to make since they have too many bigs, too many guards and already drafted a Euro, so I'll slot them Prince but I'm skeptical

14. Detroit Pistons - PF/C Ivan Rabb: Rabb kind of gives them what they wanted in Motiejunas

Murray will get drafted before Hield because of age and established versatility.

I love the 1 and 2 picks. I really hope Simmons does not go to the Sixers haha. As for Hield, he will never be a "superstar." What do you think about Deyonta Davis? I don't think he is ready yet, but everyone has him going top 15.

Like Sabonis but I don't see him going that high, I'd take Rabb over him.

1. Philadelphia 76ers: PF Ben Simmons - The signs are pointing this way

2. L.A. Lakers - SF Brandon Ingram: Whoever's left of Simmons/Ingram

3. Boston Celtics - PG/SG Kris Dunn: I know he doesn't fit their lineup but after making an insane offer for Winslow my take on Ainge is whoever he thinks has highest chance of being a star he's taking and figuring out the rest later. No Bender cause Ainge never takes Intls.

4. Phoenix Suns - PF Dragan Bender: Fits their lineup needs and gives them upside

5. Minnesota Timberwolves - SG Buddy Hield: Gut feel Thibs is the type of GM who likes old players.

6. New Orleans Pelicans - PG/SG Jamal Murray: A faller by this point and are Pelicans are likely to trade or stretch Tyreke to create capspace in my opinion creating a need for a scoring guard

7. Denver Nuggets - PF Marquese Chriss: PF is biggest hole and Chriss is upside pick

8. Sacramento Kings - PF/C Henry Ellenson: Try to get stretch big beside Cousins

9. Toronto Raptors - SF Jaylen Brown: Raptors need to go for a star so they get the toolsy Brown

10. Milwaukee Bucks - PG/SG Wade Baldwin: Ability to guard multiple positions and shoot is a good fit, on a team that lacks shooting and will have to do some cross assignments if Giannis plays PG

11. Orlando Magic - C Jakob Poeltl - Draft a big man with upside to fit their core and likely signal the end for the Vucevic era

12. Utah Jazz - SG/SF Furkan Korkmaz: Jazz go for a young upside pick with a need they'd like to draft a star with

13. Phoenix Suns - SG/SF Denzel Valentine: After taking an upside pick in Bender they go for a solid role player shooter in Valentine

14. Chicago Bulls - PF/C Skal Labissiere - With Noah and Pau on the way out and the Bulls on their way to rebuilding sometime, they get a project big man

Here is my top 60. It is off the beaten path but I used a data driven and retrodiction driven model this year https://asubstituteforwar.wordpress.com/2016/06/15/2016-nba-draft-top-60/

Wow, that's 20 seconds of my life I'll never get back. Don't expect much there.
