I just don't think they see Payton as a long-term solution and I think you have to take one in a really talented draft. Fox's upside > Tatum's upside and that says a lot.

I just don't think they see Payton as a long-term solution and I think you have to take one in a really talented draft. Fox's upside > Tatum's upside and that says a lot.

U had magic picking Dennis smith Jr. Not fox.

Edit: Tatum is probably one of the best 2 way guys and was a top 5 recruit and seems like a good iso guy. Need triumphs smith.

I think ORL would rather have Smith, personally. They can find other ways to get a SF, but they haven't had an elite PG in forever.

Mavs desperately need a young PG and have been scouting the hell out of them all off season. Donnie Nelson was also in Europe scouting Frank Ntilikina while the lottery was going on. If Ntilikina is there at 9 no way they pass on him for Markkanen. Ntilikina, DSJ, and Fox would all have to be gone for them to draft a position other than PG. Even at that point they may even go with Donovan Mitchell over Markkanen.
