Still why do you hate me bro :( You had 6 other players to choose from i would have been atleast somewhat happy with and gave us the 1 dude i would consider the draft a failure if we picked him at 3. Bagley, Ayton, and Doncic should be guaranteed locks to us if we stay at 3. Those are the elite tier 1 guys we need to come away with now if we go with Jackson we should trade to 7 or 8 and go from there while getting a ton of picks/players back. If we trade to 4 5 or 6 then i go Porter, Bamba as my tier 2 guys and Young as my tier 2.5 guy with JJJ starting tier 3.

Jackson is having some of the best workouts of any of the bigs in the top 10 and could easily go #2 overall, I don't think ATL should pass on him, unless they feel Bagley's offense and motor are too good to pass up. not sure why you think so lowly of JJJ. He has the most complete 2-way package of any of the bigs despite not being elite at 1 or the other yet, is projecting to be just that at both. If JJJ goes 2nd Doncic and Bagley are there for the taking if that's ATL's goal. But yeah JJJ is a longer term prospect pick offensively than Ayton and Bagley despite being better defensively already and doesn't have the same elite length as Bamba but a better IQ and a better rim protector as a result.

I think most Atlanta fans dislike the pick because he isn't flashy. He isn't the stud offensive weapon that is going to be a 20 ppg scorer. He seems like a good 10-15 ppg glue piece whof can play defense and score some. I think most mocks love the idea of JJJ to the Hawks because of "fit" instead of giving them the most talented player overall.

I would rather gamble on a guy who could be a stud then take the safe "bet".

You pretty much nailed it on the head i think JJJ is another Marvin Williams for us if we draft him. A solid 2 way player thats anywhere from a 10 to 15 point guy who can grab 5 to 8 rebounds and play solid to above avg defense. Thats not a bad player at all but thats also not a top 3 superstar potential player like Bagley, Doncic, Ayton, and honestly maybe even Bamba can be. I've watched JJJ alot and i just don't see that next level eliteness or potential with him and want nothing to do with it at 3. Now if we trade down to say 7 or so and get an amazing offer back to drop down then cool at 7 i could be inclined to grab him but at 3 he's honestly not worth it. I also remember back when Marvin Williams was drafted by us his workouts leading up to the draft were off the charts but even back then he wasn't the guy i wanted like CP3 or Deron Williams was.

Yeah I get it regarding Jackson,he doesn't have the same moxy as Bagley,so some think the projection is less high, and there is a certain amount of risk involved with younger and seemingly longer term development prospects, so what ATL has in mind for it's rebuild timeline would make the decision less complicated if they think they are 1 drafted lottery pick away from drawing a star player in fa. I don't think that Bagley is that guy regardless despite the elite motor and rebounding efficiency and I don't think he is as ready as he should be if he is drafted to a team without floor spacers. He has the body of a forward and his jumper needs a lot of work , so I expect him to spend a lot of his time defending the perimeter getting transition baskets and developing his shot.
I don't see ATL as the best fit in the short term over JJJ when they already have Collins who's athleticism is similar to Bagley and would not compliment eachother.
