So you don't even do a whole big board? Just 18 guys you like?

yup, just guys that I feel strongly about, like their archetype, and can see them playing roles in the NBA in some capacity, i'd have a sleeper list too if I were a real GM of guys not on my board that would be available later

i think if u talk to NBA GMs i doubt any of them have 60 player big boards to be honest

i go a little deeper on my positional rankings but on a big board once you go down enough it gets harder and harder to differentiate...like what's the difference between 35th and 36th ranked prospect? probably nothing other than what position they play.

There's no telling. I know if I was in charge of running a (multi) billion dollar organization, I would be thorough and the top 60 players ranked and some UDFAs I'm looking at bringing in and developing.

^Orgs do not have 60 player bbs...this late in the process They have top 3-5 prospects at every position and top 5 of specialist type role players or development based 2nd rounders.
Once draft order is in place lottery teams will have a list for only as many picks as they have ahead of theirs with maybe 3 wildcards they still have questions about that could move them into that upper range . Well at least the orgs that dont wait until the last minute to run scouts out to tournament settings which of course dont exist thus time around.
I bet other than a few sleepers that outperformed expectations in college the majority of picks will be the ones that were highly recruited pre college
Thanks to isolation and becoming one with the darkness of self I have

just what i've heard/read about, I know in the NFL for sure they don't, for example the 49ers had 18 players this year ranked as first rounders, and then redraw their board after every round depending on how it falls

you can go deep on your positional rankings, but like I said, you go down far enough on your big board and the variance between players is too slim to even bother ranking, it becomes much more about archetype and positional fits.

What is the point of re-drawing the board every round?

because it's gonna look different after the draft, players you had going 2nd might go 1st and vice versa

But you are talking about re-drawing the board during the draft, not after. I'm confused.

Right. I get that. But why? Why re-draw your board after every round? I don't see the point. Why not just cross off the players that were taken?

because ranking 60 players is completely pointless
