As an FSU fan, I know all about Singleton. I have just been waiting patiently for everyone else to catch up.

I have been calling him Baby LeBron for a while now. He has the same kind of all around game and the same man sized body...though obviously not as good.

I like that enthusiasm. Honestly, I saw him twice last season and wasn't real impressed, because he was playing out of control and seemed to think he was a guard. He looked very athletic - but very raw. But I didn't even recognize him against Baylor. He must have worked real hard on his game and his body in the offseason. I was watching the game to see Perry Jones, but Singleton stole the show.

Any thoughts on whether Derrick Williams can project to the 3 in the NBA. He's putting up remarkable shooting numbers, but his rebounding is just okay.

Again - nice to see Kris Joseph finally showing he can shoot. He's climbing.

Chris Wright (G-town's) will end up in the 1st round.

He is definately a tweener. I think he can play some SF, but most of his NBA minutes will likely be at PF. He is a good athlete and a solid shooter, so some time at SF should not be an issue.

It is pretty likely both guys stay in this draft. Irving is possibly the top pick and a toe injury won't threaten that. Kanter will never be NCAA eligable, and should eventually figure that out.

So far every mock I've seen has at least 9 SF/PFs in the top 13, a trend I see rising every year. I like the way Sullinger has been playing so far.

What is the reasoning for Sacramento drafting Perry?

Do you think an Irving/Evans backcourt would be successful? How effective is Irving off ball?

Also, what fight is your avi

There definately seems to be a glut of wing players in the lottery the last few years. Just goes to show you how tough it is to find great PGs and post players.

Sullinger is a very good player, but has a lower ceiling than some in this draft.

Perry Jones has Kevin Durant type upside and fits a need for Sacramento. Mentally, he does not have what Durant does, but from a skills perspective, he is the top guy in this draft. I do not think Irving and Evans would fit well in a backcourt, as both need the ball to be most effective. Irving could do okay playing off the ball some, but it would hinder him from becoming the player he could be. The Kings are Evans and Cousins, every other position needs an upgrade. So why not take the top talent, especially when he and Cousins would make a dangerous front court for years to come.

The fight in my avatar is Benson Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis from the last WEC event. If you have not seen the fight, it is worth finding online.

I think Perry Jones has tremendous upside. He has a game similar to Garnett in style. Doesn't seem to have any type of killer instinct though, which is a viable concern. I think he's a power forward through and through though, just not a traditional type in any way.

I would cringe if NJ took Barnes that high. This draft is tricky though and I'm not sure it is nearly good as I once imagined. It seems to be uber top heavy with like 2 possible franchise players and maybe 5 to 6 guys that could be big time that are in the top ten that include those two franchise possiblities and out of those one plays zero defense and the other is a classic tweener and the last isn't athletic or tall enough to ever be more than mediocre on defense. After that there seems to be a decent amount of quality depth and it's almost a certainty a late pick or two becomes a star a few years down the line, that's what always happens, but that's crap shoot territory with a low risk pick, not a franchise breaker with a top one.

David Lighty is a guy I LOVE in the second round, but the injury concerns are what ruin his 1st round value and the reason he has been in college so long. With a second round pick that risk/reward is minimized though and I think whatever team takes him there could hit a serious homerun if he ever stays healthy.

I have little negative to say about Lighty to be honest. But, I would argue that the players he has played with over the years have opened up the game for him at least in part.

Well I don't think he's going to be a real star, but as a late 1st to early/mid second I feel he could be a steal, cause if his foot holds up I could see a star role player type.

Oh, I gotta disagree with that second sentence. If anything, playing with Turner held him back. He's been unselfish almost to a fault. And frankly, he's a better athlete than Turner - capable of putting up big numbers if used in a bigger role. Cross fingers that he stays healthy. His situation reminds me of Elliott Willams' last year.

As much as a steal Keith Benson is going to be, 21 pick in the 1st round is too high for him. He's a high second round gem no doubt.

21 makes sense to me. He's one of those guys that - if he dedicates the offseason to building up his body and adds 15 lbs of muscle, he could shoot up on teams' draft boards. Thing is - he'll be 23 before next season, so how much can he really change his body? Oakland's played a strong out of conference schedule, and I think that helps him.

Btw, smart move to not include Mason Plumlee in the draft. He's so far from being ready for the NBA. Actually, it wouldn't totally shock me if Miles Plumlee gets drafted late 2nd. His body is certainly better developed than Mason's.

Meh you're right but 21 just seems like a reach. We both agree that with his current body frame he would get tossed around in the NBA, but if he bulks up he will have an impact to whatever club drafts him. I just think that a 26-30 pick or if he slips a very early second round pick seems appropriate.

Marshon Brooks undrafted? This guy put up 28 against Pitt and 27 against Syracuse. Is this guy really that under the radar?
