You obviously know something about prospects... but you know a hell of a lot less than you seem to think you do about most of these guys, so this display of ego is kind of hilarious.

It is not ego, it is me trying to prove the point that Draft Express and NBADraft.net are not the be all end all of draft stuff. In fact, they are often pretty behind on where guys actually are.

When people say stuff like "No way Burks goes that high, look where he is on DX", I have to use history to prove that point. People who have been on this site for a while know my track record...and they also know I am not some crazy egomaniac. I am always open to hearing other people's opinions on draft stuff.

The Roy/Burks comparison is a pretty apt one IMO. These site had Roy in the late 1st early 2nd for most of his senior year. Sometimes people get so caught up in what guys can be if they hit their ceiling, they forget to see how good guys actually are right now.

Well, it is ego. You are trying to say you put Roy in the top-5 before other sites. A quick search of your history shows you didn't have him in that range any sooner - you basically bumped him up when everyone else did... in MARCH. Midseason he was in your late 1st early 2nd range...

And the Roy/Burks comparison is not apt. Burks has many more holes in his game than Roy did... many more.

Brandon Roy, lotto level prospect, early January.

My bad, I was unaware there was such a giant separation in your mock (where he was 30th) and your board... it honestly makes no sense at that point in the year, but I was wrong, forgive me, you had him in the late lotto. But again, that's not different than where other sites had him.

You didn't move him up on your big board to the mid-lotto until mid March (again, same as other places). The first time he hit top-5 on your mock was April 8th, yet he was still #6 on your big board as of May 12th - not top-5.

He didn't hit top-5 in your board until June 17th, and never was higher.

Just saying... you followed the pack, you didn't lead it on Roy. You didn't have him anywhere near the top-5 you claimed to have him in, until March 29th where he was #7 on your big board (since it appears your mock doesn't have close ties with your board no matter the point in the year). That's not midseason, that's the end of his college career.

Quit saying "other places will catch up" and then use an example which are completely false.

And again, Alec Burks is nowhere near Roy... oh, and you need to get over yourself.

I pity the fool that takes Derrick Williams that high! Only if Charlotte lands in the top 3

In this draft - it's possible - though I think Sullinger and Irving go ahead of him. If Williams shows he can hit the 3 consistently, he could sneak in there at 2. He's been an amazing efficient scorer - getting 20 PPG on only 9 FG attempts per game - and his rebounding is picking up.

I like the Paul George comparison for Burks btw. I do think he can sneak into the top 15 for upside reasons. I'd be shocked if someone took him over say, Kanter though

This is why you don't ride some good performances to make scouting decisions. Alec Burks still has the same limitations as before- very turnover prone. His team just consequently lost to OKLAHOMA. Yes, that's Oklahoma, the same team that lost to D2 Chaminade earlier this year.

It really had little to do with him having a good week and a lot more to do with team needs and the complete lack of quality shooting guards in this draft.

Everyone knows Colorado is not any good, that is not really Burks' fault. He is somewhat turnover prone, but a lot of very good players are turnover prone. It comes with dominating the ball. If Burks played on a team in the spotlight like Kentucky or Syracuse, people would be going crazy over him.

Someone sell me on Perry Jones. Yes he's long, yes he's athletic but what else is there? When I look at him, all I see is a face up PF with weak rebounding skills and no aggression. Whats the intrigue?

He has Kevin Durant like upside. He is a tall combo forward with pretty good handles and a sweet shooting stroke. He has not put his game together yet and it is questionable if he has it mentally to dominate like Durant, but on skills and measurables alone, he blows everyone else in this draft away.

So pretty much he's tall & long..... And Perry Jones really isn't a great shooter. Austin Daye in his freshmen year was being looked at as a top 5 pick for that same reason but IMO its not enough. Earl Clark is another guy who was getting hype based on height/length/athleticism and thats really who Jones reminds me of most. Durant is Durant because of his aggression & scoring instincts not because he's 6'10 with a 7'5 wingspan.

Jones to me has nowhere near KD upside.

Jones is a better athlete than either Daye or Clark.

Jones is averaging close to 20 ppg. in his last 6 games, that is on a team with LaceDarius Dunn who dominates the ball. It is pretty clear that Perry Jones does not have a ton of problems putting the ball in the hoop.

A player with his talent and ceiling is going to be tough to pass up on in a weak draft with few sure things.

I agree. If people are nuthigging P.Jones so much then why aren't they equally as excited about Henson - who is pretty much the same sort of player?

Jones is younger, more versatile, a better athlete, and already a better scorer (despite sharing the ball with one of college basketball's best scorers) than Henson. Add to that people still have a bad taste in their mouth from Henson's subpar freshman season and that pretty much explains why people are nuthugging Jones over Henson. Despite all that, a lot of people feel Henson is a lotto pick as well this year.

I have Perry Jones as closer to a Bosh, Amare type prospect than Durant. I see him as a face-up PF who's combination of athleticism and on ball skills for a big make him among the tougher guards at the position and give him perenniel all-star potential. There's exceptions, but in general the star players are the ones who have a physical toolbox (speed, strength, vertical ability, mismatch skillset, etc.) advantage over their players and Perry has that over the PF position

And I think Henson is a top 6 prospect this draft, the difference between him and Perry comes down Perry being better offensively as a freshman than Henson as a sophmore - saying Henson has star offensive potential is a stretch with what he's shown so far
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Jones is also significantly more physically developed despite being younger.
