First, I find it hard to believe that no Cleveland player is capable of starting on a championship quality team. Its laughable to believe they, or any team, need 5 starters. Andy on the Heat, Baron on the Lakers, Hickson on the Magic - not contenders?....just silly.

Davis, Session, and Gibson are all on the books for two more years. In NBA salary cap terms, that isn't short term. Picking rookies to rot on your bench for two years isn't how you build a good team either.
As I said, if they land at #1 and thing Irving is the BPA then fine take him and shuffle the roster later. You've got them taking a small at #8 though. That just doesn't make sense. There are two many prospects with potential bunched too close together to do that.

Sure, a couple Cavs could be the worst starter on a team where a star or three can make up for them. But, Cleveland does not have that star player, so it is kind of an apple and orange arguement.

Guys like AV and Baron are not part of the Cavs long term thinking. They are stop gap players. Cleveland has to get 2 players out of this draft to build around. The positions they play do not matter at all. Sessions, Baron, and Gibsons are not nearly good enough to keep a team from taking a stud point guard in the lottery. They are the guys you trade to make room for the rookie, not the guys who keep you from drafting the rookie.

For Dumars I guess we just have to hope Jones impresses enough that he jumps Vesely.

With the draft oder taking shape i realy see some teams that would like to trade down and others that would like to up. This could be a wild draft night.

I think Pistons' second round pick will go to Keith Benson instead. He is from Detroit and is a good fit to the team. They need his size, athleticism an defense.

Zeller at 20th? Isn't it too high for him?

Jajuan Johnson, Nikola Vucevic are also some of the names Dumars should be interested in.... Especially in the early 2nd round

Also Cammo, just FYI the Warriors have NJ's and Chicago's 2nd round picks but not our own.

And didn't Tristan Thompson already say he was going back to school?

I go by nbadraft.net's draft order. Take it up with them. :)

Thompson declared and signed with an agent. He is in this draft to stay.

Switch out:
Cammo101 wrote:11. Charlotte - John Henson (6'10'', PF, North Carolina, Soph.)

13. Phoenix - Kawhi Leonard (6'7'', SF San Diego State, Soph.)

and:
20. Charlotte - Jordan Hamilton (6'7'', SF, Texas, Soph.)

with:
25. Chicago - Jordan Williams (6'10'', C, Maryland, Soph.)

and I don't mind this pick:
41. Charlotte - Keith Benson (6'11'', C, Oakland, Sr.)

Leonard, Williams and Benson wouldn't be too bad for us IMO.

The team that takes Kawhi Leonard in the top 10 will live to regret it.

I was not just speaking to Charlotte about Leonard. It seems a lot of people want their teams to take Leonard. He is a good player with nice athleticism, but wings with average handles and decent at best jumpers tend to not go in the top 10 very often.

That is 100% exactly how I would draft if I were Wolves GM (Barnes - Biyombo).

Agreed. I'm still not getting why people have Leonard over Faried. They basically play the same way, and Faried's better at it. I don't think either can play SF in the NBA.

The only pick I'm not sold on is Montiejunas going that high, I think everyone is off him without the d and rebounding. Milwaukee should take a Morris twin but I bet they go with Biyombo or Thompson - the younger raw big is usually how these things go

The Bucks desperately need offense and Donatas the tools to learn defense and rebounding with Skiles as coach and with Bogut and LRMAM as the other members of the frontcourt.

This was pretty much my thinking as well. Milwaukee needs offense and already has Bogut in the post to defend. Donatas should be able to be at least a capable defender and rebounder with time, but his offense is very nice and would be welcomed by Milwaukee who has trouble scoring a lot of the time.
