Cammo what do you think of the odds of kanter or Vesely dropping to 7? Im guessing about as good as Monroe dropping to 7. Its somewhat comforting to know that the teams drafting ahead are doing so because they arent very good GMs to begin with but I keep getting this sinking feeling?

I see Vesely as the guy who is all over the map. Is that just ignorance or is he that much a wildcard?

It is pretty unlikely that Kanter will be there at #7 unless he has some sort of red flag pop up. Vesely is more of a wild card and it would not be too surprising to see him still be there at #7. I think Biyombo would be a very good fit with Monroe in the Detroit frontcourt.

I like Reggie Jackson in the 2nd for DET.

It's also worth noting that the Pistons have Denver's 2nd.

So you're saying it's extremely likely Kanter will be there at 7?

I hope it turns out that way, but I still think Valanciunas is going to overtake Kanter after workouts, athletic testing, and medical exams.

I agree that Jeff Taylor is the pick at #24 if Singleton is off the board.

What do you think it would take to make a Taylor for Singleton swap with the TWolves?

I don't think NJ would chance JaJuan Johnson coming off the board before their 2nd rounder, they would probably snatch him up with the 27th and go for Hopson at 36.

Jeff Taylor gone before the 27th? No fair.

5. Sacramento - Brandon Knight (6'3'', PG, Kentucky, Fresh.)

I'm gonna say the same thing to you of what I said to Mufasa in his mock.

I always thought Knight is an obvious top-10 pick in this draft and his ceiling is around #5 or so (Sacramento/Utah range-ish). So, I don't have any problems with the Knight selection for the Kings.

I see that Biyombo isn't in your top-5 (Mufasa has Biyombo in there). I could actually see Biyombo as the Kings pick if they thought Biyombo is there guy to pair up for Cousins. And you have to remember that Dalembert is a FA this summer. If the Kings believed that Dalembert is gone, I think the Biyombo pick is justified under this context. But you can say the same thing to a potential Knight-selection too. The pick is justified if the Kings believed that they can't retain Thornton in the summer.

But if the Kings retained both Thornton and Dalembert, a selection of either Knight (over-saturation of guards: Evans, Thornton, Beno and now Knight) or Biyombo (over-saturation of bigs: Cousins, Dalembert, Thompson, Whiteside, and now Biyombo) would not make too much sense in theory, even though those two guys are clearly BPA. In that case, the Kings would have a choice of:

a) trade the pick for an established player
b) draft SF (Vesely?)
c) draft BPA no matter what: Knight, Biyombo

My heart says "Always draft BPA and lets things work themselves out" but my brain says, "Trade the pick for an established player or trade down". So, I don't know.

That's my two cents about the Kings draft. 8-)

Just wondering if the Kings will be interested in trading Whiteside for Pistons' 7th overall pick and Jason Maxiell??

They're wrong (and not for the 1st time either).

The less favorable of Denver's 2011 2nd round pick and Portland's own 2011 2nd round pick to Detroit [Denver - Detroit, 7/13/2009]

• Denver trades a 2011 second round pick to Detroit as part of the Arron Afflalo trade.

• Denver acquired guard Arron Afflalo and forward Walter Sharpe from Detroit for a future second-round draft pick and cash.

I don't see why Detroit would be interested in doing that.

I don't think the Kings are willing to take in a 'bleh' player who is owed 10m over two years in exchanged for Whiteside, who the Kings are high on.

But to be honest, why would the Pistons do it? I think they would rather keep Maxiell and use the pick for themselves.

Was there any reports that Dumars was high on Whiteside before the draft last year?

To me, I could see both teams rejecting the deal. Although, the value is there. Absolutely.

Whiteside is better than most big men available at 7th. Derrick Williams, Kanter and Valanciunas will be gone by 7th.

And Maxiell has negative trade value, Pistons may want to get rid of him n his contract. Imagine if Whiteside declared for this draft instead, he'd easily be a top 5 pick.

Whiteside is still a legit 7 footer with 7'7" wingspan.

I'm pretty sure that no team (Even in this putrid draft) would trade the 7th pick for a guy who was a second round last year, didn't play at all, and then had knee surgery.

Seriously, I'm about to lose it and lambaste people saying the Kings would reject this deal.

Well, I did said the value is there. But it just that the Kings are allegedly high on Whiteside. Particularly in the predraft phase. There were reports that Whiteside was on their list of players for the #5 last year. They were surprised that Whiteside dropped to them in the second round. They envision Whiteside to be future partner with Cousins in the frontcourt.

Everyone likes Bismack this year, mostly because his unreal physical measurements. But guess what? Whiteside is at par or has superior measurements than Bismack. And Whiteside is a legit 7 footer.

And Whiteside has a decent low to high game. Has the ability to knock down Js 16-18 feet too. Everyone likes to talk about guys like McGee and DeAndre Jordan because of their physical abilities. I think Whiteside can join that list of promising big men in the league.
