Mock Lottery 2011

1) Cleveland Cavaliers (from LAC)- Derrick Williams SF/PF

Cleveland needs a star and as good as Kyrie Irving may become, I just think that Williams will become one of the best scorers in the NBA. Either player they pick, Cleveland can't go wrong.

2) Minnesota Timberwolves- Enes Kanter PF/C

I was thinking about putting Kyrie in this spot but with Rubio, Ridnour, and Flynn, the Timberwolves should select Kanter who, with Love, can be a great 4-5 duo. Minnesota can also opt to take Kyrie and trade him because I'm positive teams would throw plenty for him.

3) Utah Jazz (from NJN)- Kyrie Irving PG

If Kyrie does slide to 3, Utah takes him and runs like bandits.

4) Cleveland Cavaliers- Jonas Valanciunas C

A combo of Valanciunas and Williams in the draft is a good draft. Jonas may stay away for a year or two but that probably means better draft position for Cleveland in next years draft as they aren't going to the playoffs most likely next season.

5) Toronto Raptors- Brandon Knight PG

After Kawhi's workout in Toronto, scouts loved what they saw, but that was assuming Brandon Knight is long gone by 5. If Knight slips to 5 however, Toronto should take him and not look back.

6) Washington Wizards- Kawhi Leonard SF

The Wizards have talent at the 1, 4, and even the 5. If Nick Young returns and they keep Crawford, the 2 spot is looking pretty good as well. They have also been trying to get better defensively and Kawhi will bring exactly what they want. His a gym rat that will get after it and grab rebounds.

7) Sacramento Kings- Kemba Walker PG

Sacramento wants to keep Tyreke at SG and by bringing Kemba over they can do just that while having one of the most exciting back-courts in the NBA. Kemba proved he can play just as good off the ball as well.

8) Detroit Pistons- Jan Vesley SF/PF

Probably the most athletic player in the draft with plenty of potential. Vesley can play along side Monroe at the 4 or play on the wing. He is weak as of right now but by bulking up a little, Vesley can become a solid defender for Detroit while giving the Pistons some flare and excitement.

9) Charlotte Bobcats- Alec Burks SG

Burks would fix a hole in the Bobcats rotation which is the wing. Burks can handle the ball, get to the line and grab rebounds from the 2 guard position. He can compliment Jackson well by doing so and would be a solid choice for Charlotte.

10) Milwaukee Bucks- Marcus Morris SF/PF

Marcus would bring versatility and scoring in the Bucks lineup, something they were unable to do all year. He also fills a need at the 4 spot where Bogut will be there for when Marcus gets beat by which would be common because of his small frame.

11) Golden State Warriors- Jordan Hamilton SG/SF

Hamilton would provide much needed depth for Golden State. Jordan can come off the bench as a sixth man and light up the scoreboard and acting as a legit scoring threat to open up the lanes more for Monta.

12) Utah Jazz- Klay Thompson SG/SF

The Jazz got lucky and were able to select Kyrie third so instead of Jimmer, they get Jimmer in a bigger body. Thompson really has great range and other than Jimmer, Thompson is probably the best three-point shooter in the draft. Klay would provide a spark off the bench or maybe even crack the starting 5.

13) Phoenix Suns- Jimmer Fredette PG

Nash is getting old and Brooks is a FA this year. Jimmer can be the new point guard for the Suns and while he may not have Nash's passing abilities, he definitely has his shooting abilities and can play off the ball for his rookie season while learning how to be a true point guard from Nash.

14) Houston Rockets- Bismack Biyombo PF/C

An athletic big man, known for his superb shot-blocking, rebounding and lovely accent. Remind you of a previous Houston Rocket? Now I'm not saying Biyombo will be or even can be as good as Mutombo but with Yao's constant injuries, and the lack of big men, Houston can take a risk on Biyombo and hopes for the best.

Wolves won't pass on Irving. Irving and Rubio could play together, especially with the reports that Rubio has grown at least 1 inch since draft day

so you're suggesting rubio to be a sg? he's awful at shooting.

Irvings a pretty good shooter, and Rubio could guard the SG. Kahn and Ronzone have said that Rubio has grown at least a inch since we drafted him putting him around a legit 6'4 6'5 with a really long reach. Irving is 6'3 himself to. Dallas just won a champoinship while being able to play 2 of Kidd, Terry and Bareja together.

No way Kyrie falls to 3. He's going 1.

I'm pretty sure there's no realistic way we take Jordan Hamilton over Klay Thompson, Bismack Biyombo, or Tristan Thompson (if he's there).
