Charlotte Bobcats - Harrison Barnes or Quincy Miller

No way we take Anthony Davis with Tyrus already on the roster and after just drafting Bismack and Corey Maggette projected as our starting SF next season.

Perry Jones III is Anthony Davis without defense or intangibles, but goes ahead of Anthony Davis?

I'd be shocked if the top 2 picks went off without Davis or Barnes. Obviously the draft is a long ways out, but those 2 guys seem to be the clear #1 and #2 right now.

I would hope the Clippers draft Barnes #1 right now if they got that pick.

I think that Gilchrist would be a Jazz type pick, defensive potential, athletic...etc. But a) I don't know much about Thomas other than a draftexpress report, which was very favorable and b) it's too early to start thinking about team needs too awful much with respect to mock drafts.

Just an FYI, Utah gets our (Golden State's) pick in 2012 unless we finish in the top 7.

Mufasa: do you really rank McAdoo (who is a pure PF IMO) over Davis just because he is better looking?

I was 80% joking. The 20% is based on the fact that Davis does not look incredibly confident to me or someone who carries himself like a star and McAdoo does, and confidence of being great is of course, important (I'm only basing this on what I've seen on Davis on the surface though, it's not something I'd be comfortable making a definitive judgment on)

For the record I prefer Davis to McAdoo. I put McAdoo ahead of him because I think he's going to light it up in the NCAA far more than Davis which will get him more hype, as it did for players like Beasley and Big Dogg

Given the fact that he's playing with so many established college stars, I have a hard time believing he'll put up numbers anywhere near Beasley or Robinson.

This.

With Marshall, Barnes, and Zeller back, McAdoo is going to struggle to get consistent minutes early on, let alone consistent numbers.

07/11/11

1. LA Clippers (via Minnesota) - C Andre Drummond
2. Sacramento Kings - PF Anthony Davis
3. Charlotte Bobcats - SG Austin Rivers
4. Denver Nuggets - SF/PF James McAdoo
5. Washington Wizards - SG Bradley Beal
6. Cleveland Cavaliers - SF Quincy Miller
7. Toronto Raptors - SF Harrison Barnes
8. Utah Jazz - SF Adonis Thomas
9. Detroit Pistons - PF Perry Jones III
10. Houston Rockets (via New York) - SF Michael Gilchrist
11. Philadelphia 76ers - PF Jared Sullinger
12. Golden State Warriors - SF/PF Terrence Jones
13. Phoenix Suns - PG Tony Wroten, Jr.
14. Houston Rockets - SG Jeremy Lamb

Apparantley Rivers measured 6'5 in shoes which makes me feel much more comfortable about his draft stock, though Charlotte is the only team I'd put him that high for, it's the Bobcats way

Golden State has to give its pick to Utah unless it's top 7

Rivers doesn't make sense for Charlotte. They already have 2 small guards. No way they can roll out a Kemba/Rivers back court. That's giving up a lot of size.

Unless Rivers grows a few more inches.

Yeah I can't see Charlotte taking Rivers unless Walker is a major Bust.
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Patric Young reminds me of Donnell Harvey. He needs lots of work

No way in hell that the Pistons pass on Mcadoo to draft another SG in Lamb (who is a mid to late first IMO). And I will be very surprised if Perry Jones is a top 5 prospect come draft day
