TheCage4 1st Round Mock

Post#1 » by TheCage4 » Thu Jun 28, 2012 2:33 am

Here it is for critique....

1. Hornets: Anthony Davis
- A no brainer. All Davis has to do is live up to the hype. No biggie.

2. Bobcats: Bradley Beal
- A "snake" pick. Charlotte takes Beal & holds him for a trade (I'm betting with Cleveland)

3. Wizards: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
- Washington misses out on Beal, & decide to "snake" MKG to deal (or keep)

4. Cavaliers: Thomas Robinson
- Robinson is swapped to Charlotte along w/ #24 for Beal & maybe Tyrus Thomas?

5. Kings: Harrison Barnes
- I see mocks with Barnes dropping to #7. Shouldn't & won't happen!

6. Blazers: Andre Drummond
- Drummond hopes to give Portland what Oden never did

7. Warriors: John Henson
- A surprise pick, but beyond Lee & Bogut who does GS have up front?

8. Raptors: Jeremy Lamb
- I'm not sure why he's dropped in mocks, but Colangelo/Raptor fans have loved Lamb

9. Pistons: Austin Rivers
- Gordon is gone. Rivers adds depth & a winning pedigree

10. Hornets: Damian Lillard
- NOH gets Davis as their future C, Lillard now their future at PG

11. Trailblazers: Terrence Ross
- I went with Ross over Waiters here, but either will add to their thin back court

12. Rockers: Tyler Zeller
- I don't know what Houston is doing? But if they stay here they need a C

13. Suns: Dion Waiters
- PHX is very thin in both back court positions. Waiters might have the ability to play both SG/PG

14. Bucks: Meyers Leonard
- Milwaukee has not front court after losing Bogut. Leonard offers hope

15. Sixers: Arnett Moultrie
- Philly needs some depth up front, & with Zeller & Leonard gone Moultrie is the best available

16. Rockets: Moe Harkless
- Again, who knows what Houston is doing? Harkless will bring more to the table then Budinger did

17. Dallas: Marquis Teague
- It's looking more & more like Deron Williams is Brooklyn bound

18. Rockets: Kendall Marshall
- With questions surrounding Lowry & Dragic the Rockets need some security

19. Magic: Andrew Nicholson
- Nicholson will add the height Davis lacks & the inside game Anderson doesn't have

20. Nuggets: Jared Sullinger
- Denver has the depth to take a shot at a lottery talent everyone is afraid to draft

21. Celtics: Perry Jones
- Boston needs to look to the next chapter. Jones has ridiculous potential

22. Celtics: Fab Melo
- The C's reach a bit here but get a legitimate center to mold for the future

23. Hawks: Royce White
- Atlanta needs front court depth. I think White will be better then Terrence Jones

24. Cavaliers: Draymond Green
- I believe this will be Charlotte picking. Green gives them a high character SF

25. Grizzlies: Terrence Jones
- A possible "tweener," but there's questions around Arthur, Speights & not much at SF behind Gay

26. Pacers: Quincy Miller
- Most mocks have a SG here, but I say Miller to backup Granger

27. Heat: Will Barton
- I'm going to venture to say Mike Miller is done

28. Thunder: Evan Fournier
- Oklahoma has the depth to bring this Euro along at the appropriate pace

29. Bulls: Doron Lamb
- Rose penetrates & kicks out to Lamb for the 3

30. Warriors: Jeffery Taylor
- Golden States SF position is suspect at best. Taylor adds to the uncertainty

Are the Cavs really that high on Beal? I would figure that even with Beal gone, Cavs would at least draft Barnes or MKG if one of them remains on the board.

I still think Waiters ends up going in the top 10 but that's just me.

Solid mock otherwise.
