I really do not see Portland trading that much for just getting Oladipo in return.

First of all we're not the Hornets anymore and second of all **** no that's a horrible trade. Pierce would never play for us.

I think they would need something more back, but it's not a bad deal if they believe Oladipo is legit. Sure, you can look at it as trading a productive 2 on a good contract to move up 6 spots in a weak draft, but the Blazers also save a decent amount of money too.

I didn't see much of Barton, but was not particularly impressed with him as a prospect when I did. Again though, I only saw him play spot minutes a few times, so he could be worth more than I realize.

Oladipo would seem to complement Lillard well and would likely form a very nice defensive wing combo with Batum. You'd also have Oladipo and Lillard on the cheap for 3 years, leaving only Batum and Aldridge as the big contracts.

Portland seems to believe there are no game changers where they pick and this gets them one of the best and most NBA ready prospects and saves them money.

I don't want to be the guy who is acting like Will Barton is a solid role player, but he has Lance Stephenson written all over him. It may be a stretch, but he struggled his rookie year due to discomfort with himself and not feeling mature enough for the NBA. Look at his statistics in the last 6 games of the year, a moment where the coaches let him play and he felt comfortable doing his own thing. He is staying and will have a better career in Portland than Martell Webster, which I know, isn't saying all that much.

Fair enough. As I said, I had only seen him very briefly and had no real clue on where his value lies.

The value then may be more fair if you sub in Freeland for Barton and add a couple 2nds (I know Portland has a ton this draft that they'll probably sell anyways).

Suns trade doesn't make a lick of sense. Suns pick befor Sac so why not just pick Bennett instead of picking Burke then trading for Bennett?
