Prez wrote:Any mock that has Frank Jackson going to the Bucks gets my full approval, for whatever that's worth lol. Good stuff. Bolden a bit high imo and I'd take DSJ top 3 though. Jeanne going to the Spurs could end up being pretty high on the long list of "god dammit the Spurs did it again" moves.

If the Lakers pass on Jeanne i would be furious. He would be great for us (the idea of having a big 7'2 defensive monster for us, is too hard to pass on). We need that defense.

Yeah, looks like I got a bit lost towards the end there. Can get confusing when you're rearranging so many picks.

For Utah I'd probably take Rabb at 30.

1. PHILLY - Markelle Fultz (BPA in draft hands down)
2. DALLAS - Lonzo Ball (Solidified himself as the clear 2nd at this point as well)
3. BOSTON* - Harry Giles (Boston are good enough/have the assets to afford an upside pick, plus he's a good fit)
4. PHOENIX - Josh Jackson (BPA, I think he's dropping a bit but no standout bigs or PG's to justify over him at this stage imo)
5. MINNESOTA - Jayson Tatum (we'll have to see how he goes this season, but could be future at SF with Wiggins/LaVine at SG)
6. NEW ORLEANS - Jonathan Isaac (Gives them a versatile piece that could play on the wing or at the 4 with Davis at 5)
7. WASHINGTON - Dennis Smith Jr. (BPA, could easily go earlier. At minimum, an elite backup to Wall, which they do need to upgrade)
8. MIAMI - Lauri Markennen (Their PF spot is wide open and he's a good fit with Winslow)
9. DENVER - OG Anunoby (Denver could do with a 3/4 prospect and a defender, might encourage them to move the vet wings)
10. SACRAMENTO - Frank Ntilikina (BPA which suites the Kings because they need a PG prospect, Cousins or not)
11. ORLANDO - De'Aaron Fox (Toss up with Monk, but I feel like they sway to Fox, especially if they're iffy on Payton going forward)
12. PHILLY - Malik Monk (Works out great for Philly, 3 point marksman who's uber-athletic? Fits to a tee)
13. INDIANA - Miles Bridges (BPA, especially considering all the C's after this point. Upside 3-4 for them isn't bad)
14. ATLANTA - Bam Adebayo (Drafted a few wings last year and no PG prospects around here. BPA as well.)
15. DETROIT - Kostja Mushidi (a reach, but Detroit could do with back-court depth and Mushidi looks impressive)
16. PORTLAND - Ivan Rabb (I've let him fall, probably lower than is fair for him, BPA)
17. NEW YORK - Robert Williams (Good fit as a 4/5 and good upside, could really carve a strong role out in NY)
18. CHARLOTTE - Tyler Lydon (Gives them a shooter at the 3 to back up MKG, another small ball 4 option maybe as well)
19. MILWAUKEE - Terrance Ferguson (long, athletic. Sounds like a Buck. 3/D a good fit)
20. UTAH - Rodions Kuruc (Utah need some more talent at the 3, this is good value)
21. CHICAGO - Marques Bolden (I've let this guy slip too far as well because of team needs, Bulls need a backup C)
22. BROOKLYN* - Jonathan Jeanne (Brooklyn need to go for talent, Jeanne has upside).
23. DENVER* - Edmund Sumner - (could do with a PG to groom in to a back up)
24. OKC - Thomas Bryant (purely BPA pick)
25. HOUSTON - Grayson Allen (athletic spot up guy for around Harden)
26. TORONTO - Jarrett Allen (they have C's, I know, but purely BPA. He's fallen too far already, plus Toronto have 2 picks)
27. CLEVELAND - Jaron Blossomgame (older pick, athletic, should fit in well and carve a niche)
28. TORONTO - Josh Hart (NBA ready, good fit)
29. SAN ANTONIO - Omer Yurtseven (fallen as it is, plus a Euro, and Spurs need good bigs)
30. GOLDEN STATE - Jawun Evans (given what's on the board, I think they don't mind going for Evans)

Big board does deviate a fair bit from this, will post it at some point.

You don't even have the ROTY on your board? What gives?

That's the very first mock I did back in December 2016. I'm assuming I just forgot him in this version. As the posts are in chronological order, the post just above yours was the most recent big board of mine, where Mitchell is sitting at #10.

Don't judge the December one, there's always a tonne of movement between then and draft time for anybodies board - Rabb and Mushidi, for example, where notable disappointments through that season, and therefore droppoed down in subsequent mocks.

I also have Simmons as ROTY still at this stage, not Mitchell.

That mock is actually extremely impressive for a December mock. Obviously Giles and Anunoby fell, but everything else is really quite close.

Thanks :)

I was surprised I had Jarrett Allen so low because I liked him, but I moved him up to 15-16 later on in the season.

I have to eat crow on Adebayo, though, I didn't buy the hype, just thought he'd be an energy big; a high end backup. I dropped him well out of the lottery in later boards.

The other big miss was Kuzma, but he was a sleeper in most peoples books. Some nailed him here, though.

Otherwise I was pretty happy with how my later mocks looked, though.

Kuzma sucked at Utah and I have no idea how he's good in the NBA.

Source: I went to Utah for the entire time Kuzma was there.

Feel no shame for missing on him.

To really get Kuzma, you’d have to catch moments. Moments where he would sprint down the court using big strides, moments where he used his post moves and used counters in the post and moments he would shoot. I didn’t see this with Kuzma either.
There is a general theory amongst scouts that if a player does something a couple times they will be able to do it again in the future. That means those 30 or 40 point games can become more consistent. Of course it depends on how they get their buckets. Probably not capitalizing on big mismatches like Kennedy Meeks used to do. And in a more translatable way, like with advanced moves or a jumper.
When Kuzma made 7 threes at the combine, it was one of those moments for a lot of scouts. Zach LaVine has similar moments and Frank Kaminsky too.
I’m not sure we’ll get another Kyle Kuzma this year, but it’s something to look for.

I’m not sure how everyone else missed on Adebayo. He was so fluid. I actually still think he’s going to be one of the best in this class. He’s just going to take some time to develop his post game and jumper.
