It's an interesting board and obviously differs a fair bit from most, but it'll be interesting to see how right you are when things pan out.

I definitely like Okogie and Jontay a whole lot, but I would personally feel like this is too far. Likewise I acknowledge the concerns with Bagley, Bamba, and Ayton but wouldn't place them that low. Maybe this is a bit too contrarian, or maybe I just don't have the balls to commit to the guys I like to this extent.

Makes me think back to last year, I loved Donovan Mitchell, but not to the extent that I would put him over the 'top' guys like Fox, DSJ, etc. Perhaps an example of trying to hedge bets and give a little bit of leeway for the guys with more hype, when objectively, if you were shown each guy with no context, maybe Mitchell was a guy I would've put higher than I did.

Either way, I commend you for committing to the guys you like.

lol, not at all

I'm just trying to ignore "conventional wisdom" and make my own judgements/evaluations as much as possible.

Respect.

This is what I want to see more of on these boards. So many lists are slight tweaks on the latest ESPN mock that don't add anything to the discussion.

Comments/Questions on your board:
-We have the same top 3!
-Why the clear separation between Ayton/Bagley? A lot of their positives/negatives seem fairly similar to me, and I'd expect them to be within a couple slots of each other on most boards.
-That is Robert Williams right?
-Okogie is obviously your big deviation, haven't seen a ton of him, but his vertical explosion seemed lacking in the little time I watched. Do you feel similarly? Are you concerned at all that statistically he didn't seem to show a ton of improvement from Fr to So season?
-Is 14 as far out as you're planning on going? It seems like approximately the right number to me as that's about how many starter+ players you'll get in any 1 draft.
I bought a boat.

He's in a huge tier with a bunch of wings, haven't fully sussed out yet. Probably late first, early second. My draft will end up with around 45 wings.

Ayton's physical upside is just too massive to move down further. I have similar questions about the defensive IQ and toughness of both, but Bagley has some real physical limitations if he plays the 5. His reach/wingspan isn't that great. Ayton just seems a better bet. I really worry Bagley is a tweener and not in a good way.

Yes, Robert Williams.

Okogie may not be elite athleticism but he's above average and looks incredibly strong to me. He also has a 7' wingspan! Watch him rebound, he's a monster when he goes after the ball. Regarding lack of improvement, I actually have thought about it, but for now, it's not enoug of a red flag to move him down.

I've got about 14, the next bunch is like a big massive tier that I think order is much more dependent on team needs on such. But I'll probably mock out at leat to the end of R1 at some point.

Making some changes and adding a few players (stars indicate tiers-ish):

1) Doncic
***
2) JJJ
3) Trae
***
4) Ayton
***
5) Jontay
6) Miles
7) MPJ
8) Bamba
9) Bagley
***
10) WCJ
11) Mikal
12) Shai
13) Zhaire
14) Williams
15) Okogie
16) Shake
17) Shamet
19) Troy Brown
20) Knox
21) Jacob Evans
22) Keita Bates-Diop
23) Kenrich
24) Khyri

Moved Mikal down several notches. More I look into it the less I trust his shooting eliteness. Moved Jontay over Miles. Flipped WCJ and Bamba. Added Zhaire to Lottery. Added Shake and Shamet, who I think are two of the top 4-5 shooters in the class. Added Khyri, Brown, Knox, Evans, Kenrich, KBD.

Interesting take, what makes you rate JJJ so highly and Ayton so low?

Same with Jontay Porter, Miles and Zhaire Smith in tier 3?

It's all about a mix of talent/skill level/age/bbiq/mentality. The guys I like tend to have a lot of these things together.

Mind if I ask why? I know he's not athletic but he's long (pause) and smooth.
