Post-Combine board. Had to move Zhaire down and Melton up based on measurements. I feel like those two can't be separated by too many slots and I probably had Zhaire too high given he's now clearly a combo-guard size more than a big wing. Also moved Miles up.

Wow, so you're really high on Miles then. Just curious, what do you like about him so much? I personally have him in the 18-22 range on my big board. I just can't see what he'll be able to do at an elite level in the NBA. He's not a good creator due to a meh handle, a tight upright posture, and predictable go-to-moves, resulting in him being more of a straight line attacker. I'm not sold on his shot just yet and in college defenders were able to force him into a ton of inefficient midrange jumpers because of his lack of ability to take players off the dribble all the way to the hoop unless an open lane presented itself. Plus he wasnt able to get to the line much at MSU, with a FTr of just .245 across two years and .239 this pas one. And while he's super athletic, length is so much more important in my eyes. And an 8'7.5 standing reach is just a glaring issue for a guy who doesn't look skilled enough to be a 3 and looks best as a small ball 4. Even a complete outlier like Draymond has a standing reach of 8'10. His reach is 1.3 inches shorter than the average NBA SF and 2.4 inches longer than the average SG (as of 2014 data). In college Bridges' lack of length hurt his ability to contest from a standstill position and he was a nonexistent post defender/rim protector, so I just don't see who he's going to defend at the next level.

And I'd love to believe that Bridges is a stud in the making because it's rumored that Gilbert likes Miles (and he's even been at a few Cavs playoff games in the past few weeks) which makes sense considering they both went to MSU, so I've already resigned myself to the fact that we're going to be taking him at 8 over propects like Mikal, Carter, Young, and even Jontay, all of whom I like far better. But I just don't see it with Miles.

Miles main selling point is flexibility. I think he can guard 2-4/5. He's a bull and he can jump. Measurements were actually better than I was expecting. Draymond's standing reach was measured at 8'9", so it's not that far off and if you look at Miles FR year when he played the 4, his block rate was significantly higher. He's not a +++ rim protector but I think he can be neutral or somewhat over-achieve there. I see him basically as a much better version of Harrison Barnes, better at everything in terms of playing basketball. The way the league is going that is pretty valuable. Also think souped up PJ Tucker, Jae Crowder, Carrol, etc.

Totally understand he's not for everyone. But that's what makes this fun!

Made sort of a philosophical change moving a group of wings (Huerter through Melton) into one tier ahead of a group of bigs (Bagley through Williams). The idea is that I think one of these wings will "hit" and whichever one (I don't know for sure) will be more valuable than any of those bigs potentially.

Miles Bridges definitely looks interesting to me as well

I am a bit "sad" about Jevon Carter and Newman, because I think they are sleepers

Ya think Wendell Carter is going to fall all the way to SAS at 18? I hope so, as a Spurs fan, but not a chance...

Difference between "Big Board" and "Mock Draft".

No, I don't think he's dropping to 18. But that's where he drops on my board.

A couple more Q's on a few guys I continue to find a little polarizing -

- You've got Hutchison at a reasonably favourable spot at 20. I'm really sold by the eye test on him, think he's got great long strides, quite athletic for a senior, is a legitimate ball handler for an SF and has good passing ability/instincts (though his issue did get him a bit beyond his ability in that regard, not the assist/TO ratio). Maybe not as great a defender as you'd hope but not bad by any means. Seems like a more than serviceable shooter at this point, maybe a bit streaky and not super versatile in ways to get it off, but no liability.

I've seen people knock him for his skill-set once you peg him in to more of a 3/D role, and knock his production because of the quality of competition. What's your thoughts on him?

- Knox is a guy I'm trying to find a middle-ground on. Was super keen on his potential before the season, had him 6th on my board I believe, then became increasingly frustrated with him through the NCAA season and know I have him just outside the lottery. I sold myself on him being fools gold. Now, I've gone back a bit, listened, though not completely agreed, with people telling me about his misuse, highlighting his age and such, watched more footage, etc. and I think I'm going to bring him back up to 10-14 range. Schmitz said the other day he'd take him over both Bridges'. How do you think he compares to the Bridges'? Obviously your answer will be coming from someone who has non-consensus opinions on both Bridges', so I'll keep that in mind as well.

- My basic thoughts on the Bulls spot at 7 is Bamba is my favourite (I can see you'd question that preference), and if not, I'm trying to evaluate who I like out of Young/Carter/MPJ/Miles. As someone with Miles 5th on your board, which is one of the highest rankings I've seen him, I would imagine you would be an advocate for Miles as the preference out of that group. Can you sell me on what you see on him to have him that high?

Interested to hear your thoughts, EvanZ.

I wasn't as high on Hutchison initially, but I've come around on him recently. I feel like if you buy Hutchison's shooting, he's really not all that different a prospect from Mikal, and actually more like Mikal with some upside as a creator. It seems like enough upside to bet on around 20 (which is probably where he ends up going).

I've got Miles #3 on my board! So yeah, I'm high on him (admittedly it's probably unrealistically high, but I figure everyone should have a few wildcards on their board). I have come around on Knox quite a bit. I do think Calipari players tend to be hidden or misused somewhat. He's not really that athletic, but he is one of the younger Freshman and he's got length. If you view him as a 4, I think it starts to make sense. Why can't he be a better Harrison Barnes? Actually, a bunch of guys in this draft can be a better Harrison Barnes (Miles, MPJ, Knox among them).

The Bulls need as much talent as possible, I can see the allure of pairing Bamba with Markannen, but I'm just not that high on him to be honest. He's also a 20-year old Freshman.
