Butler gets kicked out o0f the combine and sent to a hospital for a heart problem, and moves up to no. 6?

I do like that you have some out of the box rankings, though and it's not like you're just regurgitating the same recycled rankings we see on every other mock draft.

What makes Carton better than McBride? Carton is 1 inch taller but McBride has a very long wingspan. And McBride seems to do everything on the court better than Carton, except for dunking..

I haven't been following the combine or seen any results so that's news to me. Everything is based off on court play.

Carton to me has more potential with his athleticism, he can really go with a head of a steam as you know you have seen some of his dunks. He has a pretty strong body and gets to the basket easier than McBride as well. McBride to me will always be a bit limited as he is not one to attack the rim, he is more prone to stop on the dime and pull up for a mid range jumper. The ability to attack from the top of the key is something not really in his repertoire. I think Carton can make passes that McBride cant as well and has more range on his shot.

Good explanation on Carton. He does seem like a very intriguing prospect. Crazy that no other mocks or big boards I am seeing him in the top 50.

Butler - I like him too..not sure what is going in with his health, though. Worth keeping an eye on because it could cause him to drop quite a bit.

Have you checked out Santi Aldama yet? He is one guy I think has the potential to possibly be a top 25 prospect in this draft who seems to be massively underrated right now. Curious how how you might rank him.. I kind of see him as similar to Prkacin, except Aldama is 2 inches taller but 2 years older..

I can't fathom him not being in someone's top 50. I will say though this draft is incredibly deep imo.

I looked up Butler after what you said, apparently they knew about the issue when he came to Baylor. I hope it's nothing that affects his prospects in the league. That I imagine would be heartbreaking for him.

I haven't seen Santi Aldama yet, will definitely check him out. You will know what I think if you see him on the next update. Age is important to me but if he similar and a bit taller than Pkracin he is worth looking at for the top 25.

Very interesting. You still have Livers that high even though he still has not returned to the court from a broken foot?

Nice to see I'm not the only one high on Aldama - it really would have been nice to see him at the combine to see how he does vs better competition and with better teammates. Guess you looked into Aldama and liked what you saw?

Livers, Herb Jones, Vrenz, Nix and Grimes all being higher than Moody, Sengun, Mitchell and Jalen Johnson - really going out on a limb here..

Very interesting prospect. I'm surprised that he hasn't got more recognition. I would have liked to atleast see measurements and testing at the combine. I'm curious to see where he actually lands come draft time. I feel my top 14 are pretty locked in. He was the most intriguing to me outside of them.

Yeah I struggled a bit this time around with the later picks trying to place them. I could probably flip some and I reserve the right to be wrong on the ones you mentioned. None of those guys looks like starters to me and if they are role players it's just figuring out which brings the most value. Moody I just don't see it, he measured well but he has always looked slow to me. Mitchell screams specialist to me. He is old for the draft and has only produced really once against younger players. He is short and doesnt have length, also doesn't get to the line or shoot it well there. Sengun and Jalen I could see more so in the league than the other two. Sengun to me will make the league and get minutes in a rotation. Back up center. Jalen maybe a small ball 5 or a 4 off the bench but I think he needs more development. He isnt ready.

Fair enough. Again, I like that you've got your own view/opinions on these prospects and not afraid to go against the grain.

It just seems like with some of these guys (Moody, Jalen Johnson, Sengun, Mitchell) you're ranking them based on their floor without considering what their ceiling might be, and with others you're ranking based on their ceiling. I guess with some of them you just feel more confident that their will perform closer to the floor and with others you just think they will perform closer to their ceiling?

My ceilings are different than others for them I think is what it is as well as their floors. Mitchell for instance for me I just don't see value in taking him in the 1st round. He can only defend smaller players and those are the ones that get switches anyway. He hasn't proven he can shoot to me at an above average rate. So to me his ceiling is making a rotation if everything pans out but more likely not in the league. I rather take a chance on someone else with a pick. I can sign someone already able to contribute at a level similar to his upside imo cheap.

I may be wrong, just how I see it. People ranking him top 10 are seeing something I don't obviously.

Pretty interesting :) I think I saw that you had Stewart 4th last year, which is also interesting/surprising to me. I wanted to take a look to your board from last year's draft (just curiosity). If you do not mind, could you share it? Thank you!

Ideally you learn from each draft and your boards improve every year. Here was mine posted last year. Btw no where near as good as this year's draft in my estimation. I am very high on this draft.

Thanks a lot for sharing :) It is nice to see something different, also because it is a reasoned analysis. I will go on checking your board!
By the way, I agree with you about the comparison between last year's and this year's draft.

Had to remove my guy Terrance Shannon Jr. I think he made the right decision going back to school with this draft in my opinion being particularly deep and strong, he can improve his game and draft stock. Looks like Roko Pkracin also pulling his name.
