CptCrunch 2025 Big Board

Post#1 » by CptCrunch » Mon Dec 9, 2024 5:18 pm

2024: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2379620

Early Top 10 - December 9

Tier 1 - Franchise Changing Talent
1. Flagg - Flagg could sleep until March, and he would go #1 based on his team USA play at age 17 looking like the best player on the Select Team. Oh wait, he is still age 17 right now playing as the best player in the ACC.
Projected direction: ^ , only goes up to be more concensus as there are some suspect 'evaluators' pushing Harper.

Tier 2 - Lower Tier Franchise Player
2. Harper - This guy looks like James Harden right now with his play style. Legit first option in the league.
Projected direction: ➖v, can only go down as there are some changes Traore and Demin can overtake him.

Tier 3 - All-Star Median Outcome
3. Traore - Traore has cooled a bit, but this historic work stills places him high.
Projected direction: ➖
4. Demin - Has clear point guard chops at 6'9" listed. FT looks shaky but only at 17/25.
Projected direction: ^➖

Tier 4 - Role Player Median Outcome
5. Jakucionis - undervalued (high school rank) euro popping off
Projected direction: ^➖v, very unsure here
6. Edgecombe - I don't love his profile being a mediocre passing small shooting guard, but the upside is so high with his physicality and build. I want to see more as he has struggled against good teams. Even with struggles, this dude is draftable as an Andrew Wiggins/Russell Westbrook level athelete.
Projected direction: ➖v, I see 6 has his realistic ceiling.
7. Johnson - I don't love him, but he is too prodctive for a well rounded pure scorer. Cam Thomas NBA comp
Projected direction: ➖v
8. Kneuppel - best shooter this year, saying a lot with Jakucionis and Egor above him in lotto.
Projected direction: ➖v
9. Bailey - probably the lowest basketball IQ player we've been in half a decade within the lotto. Unless he shoots like Durant, he is not gonna drafted in the top 5 with his 1/3 assist to turnover ratio.
Projected direction: v, I see Bailey dropping to end of lottory if the world was sane. Most still have him in the top 3, and those people have zero idea of what's going on.
10. Maluach - a big body that moves
Projected direction: ^➖v

what does Tier 5 stand for? If Tier 4 is role player what's after that? bench/end of bench/two-way? So "upper" is bench and "lower" would be g-league?

More role players with more risk or lower expected outcomes. My ranking are not based on ceiling like most board but on my perceived median outcomes.

Role player here means playing a role, a starter is a role player.
