1. LAC- Griffin. This pick was set once the Clippers won the lottery back in May. I expect them to move Randolph as I believe he has less years remaining on his deal in comparison to Kaman. Griffin should be the starter from day 1, but if Eric Gordon's rookie yr is any indication, BG minutes will probably be limited for awhile.
2. Memphis- Rubio.( I think Memphis ignores "Rubio's desire to play elsewhere" and selects him. I think
Mike Conley will be packaged in a trade).
3. OKC- Thabeet ( Although I think they should take Harden, I think OKC takes the defensive force in Thabeet. OKC has been snake bitten in the past few drafts taking big men that are projects, I believe they try one more time to get it right.
4. Sacramento- Jrue Holiday. Holiday did not show much in his lone season in Westwood, but the Kings have brought him in a few times for workouts/interviews. Jrue did not play much PG at UCLA because Collison logged heavy minutes, but he was a pg in high school, and I believe that he can play the position in the NBA. Jrue is a few years away from being a true contributor, but the Kings IMO are also a few years away from being playoff contenders.
5. Washington- James Harden. This is simply a value (BPA). The Wizards really would have liked to get one of the top two picks to select Griffin or Rubio, as those are positions of need for this team. This team has a lot of money tied into its big three: Jamison, Arenas and Butler, and has been decimated by injuries the past few years. Harden is an immediate upgrade over Young and Stevenson and his unselfish play and solid all around game will be welcomed in DC.
6. Minnesota: Stephen Curry. This pick came down to Curry or Evans, as I believe Minny would be thrilled to add either guy to the roster. With the recent report that interim coach McHale is not coming back, this adds pressure for GM Kahn to make the right pick. Curry is a smart player who can shoot the ball, and is more athletic and stronger than people believe. There is some debate about whether or not he can play PG in the NBA, and his lack of defensive prowess has been questioned, but how many young rookies coming into the league are touted for their defensive abilities?
7. Golden State: Jordan Hill. My lovable Warriors back home in the lottery. I will admit this franchise is one of the worst ran teams in all of the NBA, and until the FO changes and the small ball philosophy changes, this team will be lottery bound. I know there is a recent "story" about the Warriors promising Ellis they will not take a PG, and I do not believe they will take one with this pick, but for different reasons. I think this pick is made for the Mavericks and there will be a draft night trade with Dallas, as the Warriors would like to dump Maggette's contract.
8. New York: Tyreke Evans. I think the talk of NY wanting Hill is a smokescreen, the guy they really want IMO is Evans, and I think he would thrive in MD system. Evans is a SG but has the length and size to play a little PG. Due to his wingspan Evans also has the ability to guard SF's.
9. Toronto- Demar Derozan. The Raptors desperately need to upgrade the wing position, as Anthony Parker simply sucks. Derozan definitely has some work to do in terms of improving his jumper, but his athletic ability is off the charts. With his size he can also play SF. He has the ability to be a solid defender as well. The big question will be, is DD mentally tough enough and mature enough to put it altogether. He could be Vince Carter with Bruce Bowen type of defense, or he could be Gerald Green.
10. Milwaukee: Johnny Flynn. With the possibility that Sessions does not return, the Bucks must address the PG position. Flynn measured out well and did well in the drills. He is a Scott Skiles type of player, in that he competes on both ends of the floor and he is very tough. Milwaukee, "here's Johnny'.
11. New Jersey: Earl Clark
12. Charlotte: Gerald Henderson
13. Indiana: Dejuan Blair
14. Phoenix: Brandon Jennings
15. Detroit: James Johnson
16. Chicago: BJ Mullens
17. Philadelphia: Ty Lawson
18. Minnesota: Chase Budinger
19. Atlanta: Jeff Teague
20. Utah: Tyler Hansborough
21. New Orleans: Omar Casspi
22. Dallas: Terrence Williams
23. Sacramento: Derrick Brown
24. Portland: Victor Claver
25. OKC: Eric Maynor
26 Chicago: Austin Daye
27. Memphis: Patrick Mills
28. Minnesota: Dajuan Summers
29. LAL: Sam Young
30. Cleveland: Wayne Ellington

Re: The Worst Damn Mock Draft Period
Kings take Maynor at#23 before Young(age he's older than Hawes/Thompson/Rubio - in fact I'd say they take Casspi before Young as well.) as Rubio insurance for the coming year since it's up in the air whether he comes or not.
Marcus Thornton won't last past Dallas, and I bet he goes to NO or Atlanta as they're rumored to really like him.

Re: The Worst Damn Mock Draft Period
Maynor seems like he is about 7-10 slots too low. Anyone of the teams from #17-#21 would take him over the listed picks, esp. Atlanta or Utah / NO to backup their star pg's.
Interesting draft - your top four wouldn't surprise me at all.
