with all the young PGs vying for playing time in memphis, I see all their value going down.

I doubt Odom sees a big drop in minutes. right now wont gasol/odom line up 5/4?

Gasol... scoring goes down? boards/blocks up? higher FG%, higher assists?

I dont forsee a big change for him

incidentally the grizz now have two of the biggest busts ever on their team... kwame and darko

Darko might just get a boost on fantasy value with this one. I'm seriously considering on dropping Turiaf for him right now.

since turiafs value goes down with this deal, that seems a solid move IMO

good catch on warrick... I will watch him closely

Darko becomes a legit 3 block, 9 rebound centre now.

He probably won't score more than 9 ppg though.

Hey Farmer Man, I just traded Gasol and Ellis for Iverson in our league -- seconds before I saw the trade.

You're right, his scoring definitely goes down. So, you're also probably right that his FG% goes up because he will be asked to do less on offense. I'm not sure why you think his blocks and rebounds would go up though. I don't see any reason to think that.

Farmer Man, also, if you're counting Navarro as a PG (I believe he is PG/SG eligible), then I disagree. I think his value will go up, not down, after the trade. That is at least what I see in the next few weeks. Long term, however, you may be right.

I'm a little worried, I've got both Odom and Kobe on my team.

gizz might buyout brown...which makes any PF on memphis very attractive for the late season push

I've heard that rumor a few times on discussion boards. Do you have a link?

hey Ben, i saw that deal...

I hope his blocks and rebounds will go up, having more energy to play on the defensive end. (it may be a stretch, but I wouldnt be surprised to see it happen. Besides who else is gonna rebound and block shots on that team? Odom has been wildly inconsistent)

In my opinion:

Up in value: Gay, Mike Miller, Darko, Warrick, Kobe (possibly)

Down in value: Odom, Turiaf, Bynum, Walton/Ariza, Memphis gaurds, Gasol (possibly)

Gay and Mike Miller are going to be asked to score more now. Gay moves to the first option and Mike Miller moves to the second option (remember his numbers when Gasol was hurt?). Darko's value goes up. He's a legit 10/10 2-3bpg guy now. I picked him up in all the leagues he was available. I also think Kobe may go up slightly. His scoring may go down slightly but his assists and efficiency will most likely go up. Fisher and Farmar also may go up in value. Not really due to playing time, critt didn't play much any way, but they'll get more open looks and assist numbers may go up.

Turiaf and Odom are going to be hurt of obvious reasons. Once bynum comes back, turiaf is going to see a serious decrease in PT. Odom now moves from 2nd or 3rd option to 4th. Also, Odom will be hogging the SF minutes, meaning Ariza and Walton will probably lose value, not that they had much to begin with. Bynum and Gasol, when bynum comes back, will probably also lose a little fantasy value. It's hard to say though until we see how they mesh (or don't mesh). The Memphis gaurds are competing for PT even more now, so they obviously lose value.

interesting analysis, Lakersf-man...

seeing a good amount of Memphis games (and being a Gasol/Navarro owner) i would like to offer:

up: Gay, Miller, Navarro. Gay & Miller naturally get a boost due to moving up on the pecking order of shot attempts

I'm not sure Warrick gets a "big" boost. Memphis likes to go small. It was Gay who slided over to PF when Gasol was out and Navarro started at the 2. Iavaroni has put in bigger lineups to matchup with big frontcourts but for the most part- it's the smaller lineups he prefers

same: Darko. Gasol wasn't the reason Darko was being held back. it was Darko. and quite possibly Darko's value will go down as Gasol attracted a lot of attention on offense, enabling a lot of those easy lefty hook finishes for Darko. Darko may now be worth a pick up but his lack of consistency will be a headache as usual

Odom loses value in points but should get back to his all around production, which you drafted him for. dip in points, increase in assists, %'s, maybe 3pters too
