Wallace/Butler

Post#1 » by Sledge » Sat Feb 23, 2008 11:28 pm

I have Caron Butler and I'm looking to snatch up Gerald Wallace. Are they an even one up trade or should I try to acquire more.

Guy I'm negotiating with wanted me to give up Kaman and Butler for Beidrins and Wallace and there isn't any way I'm giving up a stud Center for a mediocre one.

I turned around and proposed J.R. Smith, Caron Butler, and Raja Bell for Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson. Its a Head to Head league with about 5 weeks left I think.

My Bench:
Jamaal Tinsley
J.R. Smith
Tony Parker
Carmelo Anthony
Andrea Bargnani
Caron Butler
Chris Kaman
Marcus Camby
Leandro Barbosa
Nazr Mohammed
Raja Bell
Jameer Nelson
LeBron James

His Bench:
Antonio Daniels
Joe Johnson
Cuttino Mobley
Gerald Wallace
David Lee
Charlie Villanueva
Mehmet Okur
Eddy Curry
Jarrett Jack
Andris Biedrins
Quentin Richardson
Martell Webster
Jason Maxiell

I'm basically looking for some kind of help to pry Wallace away on a balanced trade.

Why go after Wallace? He doesn't give you anything better.

If you want someone like Wallace, what about Marion? Baron? Heck, even Ginobili would be better.

The guy who has Wallace is a Wizards fan and I'm a Bobcats fan so its kind of us both trading off for similar numbers but I was lookin to try and pull in Johnson too. I'm sitting at the 8th seed with 4 weeks left (5 including this week) and I'm looking to make a move.

If you're a Bobcats fan, and continually seeing him hurt ... do you really want him on your team? It's like gambling. Bet with your mind, cheer with your heart.

Anyways, I'd do a Lee + Wallace for Butler deal, and drop Nazr.

You shouldn't do this. Wallace is out for at least two weeks and he can't bring you what Butler can. Altough I'm not that well informed on Butler's injury status. I thought he could return anytime now...

If anything, he should give the sweetener.
