ALL-NBA SECOND TEAM 2007-08
Guard - Baron Davis
Another player known for his injury worries, B-Diddy would've fallen to the late 20s/early 30s of your draft (most likely). But, he's been the heart and soul of the Warriors all season, putting up some impressive numbers. The percentages have never been there and never will. But what he brings everywhere else is deserving of a spot in the Second Team. 22/5/8 for a PG is impressive, and we haven't talked about 2.1 three-pointers and 2.4 steals. Not many players can give you that. And, oh, did I mention his ability to add blocked shots to your team from the point?
Guard - Chauncey Billups
A personal favourite of mine. He doesn't knock your socks off and his benching in the fantasy playoffs probably let you down, but the way Big Shot has performed over the season, you really can't go past him at guard. He's always been able to help fantasy teams with his free throw shooting, but by taking a few less shots, Billups has upped his accuracy from the field too. Another guard with the invaluable three-point/steal combination. He's become a great floor general, and his assist-to-turnover ratio was high once again this season. Surprise, surprise? I hope not.
Forward - Shawn Marion
Normally, he'd be an automatic choice for the #1 team. But, given that he's missed a fair portion of the games with his new team, the Heat, and the fact he doesn't have Steve Nash around anymore, I have demoted him to the second team. Everything is still there, everything barring the regressing FT%, but the added responsibility of Miami will see him become less efficient.
Forward - Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk started slow - perhaps after the MVP of the league and his 67-win team lost to the Warriors in the first round from the year before. However, he has come right, and is just so efficient. More favoured in roto leagues because of consistency, Dirk plays his part.
Forward/Center - Kevin Garnett.
Okay, Garnett is not a center. Well at least not center-eligible. However, imagine the uproar if I didn't even have the Big Ticket in the Second Team! It's fair to say KG has enjoyed his time in Boston, not having to bust his guts for Minnesota to stay competitive. Instead, he's just one of the three major cogs in Boston's engine that is heading for a deep playoffs run. Not fantasy MVP on his lonesome, but he's still elite in fantasy, and his FG% has improved to 54% too, which always helps.

And now the moment you have been waiting for....

ALL-NBA FIRST TEAM 2007-08
Guard - Chris Paul
I think he's been the #1 fantasy player of the season. He's not a dominant scorer, but this season, he's put the ball in the hole at 49% from the field and worked on his three-point shot. Leading the league in assists and steals always helps, and he's not even leading turnovers. Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency.
Guard - Kobe Bryant
What don't you like about Kobe? He's so smooth, and his fantasy game has always been excellent. Scoring and the percentages is what you immediately think of, but, he's adding 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals every night as well. He's not the all-rounder that my beloved T-Mac is, but in fantasy, his numbers do all count.
Forward - LeBron James
He's fool's good in fantasy in terms of many taking him #1. Most managers have grasped onto that. But the numbers don't lie. 30/8/7 is not easy to do night-in, night-out, but LeBron makes it easy. Turnovers are still a little on the high side and the FT% cures won't ever be there, but if you are working to a pre-determined strategy (tank TO, FT%), LeBron's an easy call with a top pick.
Forward/Center - Amare Stoudemire
Two seasons ago, no-one really wanted to draft Amare. After two injury-free seasons though, these thoughts have disappeared. Amare's has finetuned his fantasy game to be even more fantasy friendly than he already was. Not only did he shoot 59% from the field, he hit 80% of his free-throws (a career high), whilst raising his scoring average to 25 points a night. Add in a steal, a couple of blocks and 9 rebounds, and there's really not much more you can wish for a big guy. And, also check the post-Shaq trade stats. Sick.
Center - Marcus Camby
The myth - Camby misses games and hurts you big. Guys like KG, Dirk and Marion are warriors and can play the 82. However in the 2007-08 season, Camby has rarely missed a game, and has played more games than the aforementionned. There's no doubt that when Camby plays, he makes a difference. Averaging over 13 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal for a center is great and we have not talked about the league-leading 3.6 rejections a game. The numbers speak for themselves.

nice job. i agree with most of your picks, but i have one major objection. you left out josh smith. it's obvious you like efficiency and he is not best in that department, but he improved both %s(his fg% is around league average inspite of extremly slow start in this department, so he doesn't hurt you there) and tos and is solid to magnificent in remaining 6 cats. boozer and lewis should not be above him in a std 9 cat setting
my kung fu is the best

Fair point, Smith was a tough omission.
