Keeper league: Andre Miller vs Bargnani

Post#1 » by Death Knight » Tue Sep 23, 2008 2:59 am

In a h2h, standard 9 cat keeper league with 20 teams, I have Chris Paul and Amare Stoudemire as my first 2 keepers. The 3rd and final keeper is between Miller and Bargnani. Who should I keep? Since I have CP3 already, is it wise to keep another pg around? Or should the versatility of Bargnani (sf,pf,c) come into affect?

Bargnani supposedly had a good summer with his workouts, some of which were with Jermaine O'Neal. He is set to be the 6th/first bigman coming off the bench for the Raptors. With Kris Humphries and rookie Nathan Jawai being the only other bigs on the bench, the Raptors will need Bargnani.

Andre Miller is an underrated pg no doubt, but an aging one. With Elton Brand there, and more of a half court set, his numbers might drop, with the exception of maybe assists. However, it is a contract year for Miller, which could sometimes mean something. What do you expect out of him from a fantasy standpoint?

Miller or Bargnani?

And just in case people wonder how I got both CP and Amare...towards the end when I knew my chances were slim, I traded a few of my top players for Amare. CP was my first round draft pick right from the start.

Keep Miller. He'll have a better season next year and while one may argue he has more upside, I would hope - with the team you have - you could pick up a better keeper with more upside than Bargnani in the FA draft.

Yeah value-wise it is Miller. He can be still a top-70/80 of player in the next 3 years. On the other hand,I'd be extremely surprised if Bargnani has a top-100 season in the next 3 years.

Yep, Bargnani will never be as valuable as Miller is now.

I think once Bargnani matures mentally, he'll be quite effective. He's got enough physical gifts and he's still so young.

Bargs will probably be a bench player for the next 2 years. He will get playing time, but will not produce like Andre Miller will. Get dre
