Bad internet-autodraft got me sheed in the 5th need to trade

Post#1 » by edcoche » Fri Oct 24, 2008 5:40 am

Yeeeaah, another season of fantasy bball!! Too bad my team sucks. Got some preseason issues though that need addressed. Please advise. :-?

So my connection went sour and 'Sheed was rated the highest on the list. I got him...in the 5th (out of 10 teams) I was trying to draft Josh Howard and ended up with him due to some lag in the lines of communication.....and understandably so, I was pretty pissed off.

I am thinking of proposing a trade. 'Sheed and Rip.......for 'Melo, 'Sheed for Randolph, or Kevin Martin/Sheed for Roy/Randolph (does that make me crazy?)

I know I need to get a PG....part of me wants to rock the wire once someone emerges. The other part of me makes me want to trade for one. The FA market has some prospects. I want to make a trade so I can get a quality player in exchange so I can use the extra slot for a wire guy.

The league has the following settings:

G, G, F, F, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN
FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO

Heres my horrible squad:

Kevin Martin (Sac - G)
Corey Maggette(GS - G,F)
Caron Butler(Was - F)
Rashard Lewis(Orl - F)
Dwight Howard(Orl - C)
Rasheed Wallace(Det - F,C)
Tyson Chandler(NO - C)
Luol Deng(Chi - G,F)
Ben Gordon(Chi - G)
Richard Hamilton(Det - G)
Al Thornton(LAC - F)
Joakim Noah(Chi - F,C)
Chris Wilcox(OKC - F,C)

Sheed is pretty good in fantasy. Actually a good 5th round pick and a lot better than Howard. You're team is far from bad you just need some point guards. You have a ton of centers so you'll be able to get some PGs out of them. I wouldn't trade any of those first 7 players unless you can get something really good out of them. You should be able to use the other 6 in ways to get more guards.

Check the FAs too for PGs.

You have a good team to work around with... D.Howard, C. Butler, R. Lewis, Sheed (big man who can hit three's, rebound, blk, stls), Chandler, Deng... don't know what your complaining about actually.

Your team looks fine, and i would definitely not do any of the trades that you mentioned. You might actually be better off ditching assists, as u have no PGs right now, and that would help u win TOs. Overall not a bad squad though.

You've got a good squad, and I think that you lucked out with the bad Internet! As everyone said, definitely don't make any of the trades you mentioned.

Sheed is much better than Josh Howard. What you're going to want to do--assuming this is head-to-head--is either trade away Dwight Howard for a better 9-cat fantasy option, or build around Howard by punting FTs.

x2

If you are keeping Howard, then tank FT and get rid of players like Maggette. If you want a well rounded team, then trade Dwight as there are a lot of GMs that are high on him, especially in H2H leagues, he will yeild you some top tier players.
