Calderon/Dalembert for Mayo/Chandler

Post#1 » by akaFlip » Sun Nov 16, 2008 12:08 am

I've been offered this trade where I send:

Jose Calderon
Sam Dalembert

for

OJ Mayo
Tyson Chandler

What do you think?

Also, there's a second trade I've been offered

I send

Jose and Big Z

for

Tmac and Drew Gooden

Thoughts on both trades would be appreciated.

Calderon is struggling that's why they're offering unfair trades if you take into account Calderon's real value,

Which is one of the top 3 fantasy PGs in the game.

What does the rest of your team look like? Do you need scoring?

Personally, I think TMac has been wildly inconsistent and that's not attributed to injury anymore. He just has regular bad games. Gooden is solid.

Tyson will probably get better but won't block enough, score enough. Though he's still arguably better than Dalembert.

It really depends man but I think Calderon is too good to be dealt when his value is at a low. If you wanna deal him, get maximum value for him. Which means weathering the current storm.

You're right, I'm in need of scoring desperately.
I'm constantly getting pounded on that area along with 3's.

I have CP3 as my main point which is why I'm open to trading Calderon.

My team is solid in all other of the 8 categories but scoring and 3's.

No league with T-Mac is going to win at the end. He will miss at least 20 games down the stretch, book it!

I'd say at this point Crawford would fit your needs perfectly more than McGrady. He's leading the league in 3PTM and that's not a fluke. He's got the DAntoni system down.

^ Ah, you're right. I should probably look into dealing for him.

Would a Calderon for Crawford straight up be a fair deal?

A healthy Calderon should be worth more than Crawford. Simply because top PGs are scarce.

Conventional wisdom says you should be able to get more for Calderon. But given your needs and Calderon's current injury you can probably afford to deal straight up. And Crawford might be what an injured Calderon is worth right now.

Though the wise thing to do is try to get fair value. Even if that means waiting until Calderon recovers from the injury and posting his usual stats.

Calderon/Dalembert for Mayo/Chandler? You should have did that yesterday. Calderon is not coming close to the numbers he put up last year, now with O'Neal in the mix.

Does O'Neal play PG? All I see here is another body that Jose can setup easy baskets for.

If you look at Calderon's stats this year he's averaging 2 more pts and 2 more FTM than last year. Only his FG% dipped from 0.500 to 0450. Whoop dee doo.

And he was injured for the last 2 games. I don't see why he's suddenly not going to be able to continue producing those stats unless his injury persists.

This is how my team looks:

Guards:
CP3
Iguodala
Calderon
Nate Robinson
Dunleavy

Forwards:
Marvin Williams
Zach Randolph
Thaddeus Young
Rudy Gay

PF/C:
Nene
Big Z
Dalembert
Brad Miller

I'm planning on making a deal for Rudy Fernandez and Jamal Crawford (Which are both owned by the other team I'm dealing with) They need FG% and reb/blk/stl

Who should I offer and what do you think is a fair deal?

Maybe it's just me, but I see Calderon as the best player EASILY in each deal and I think your getting ripped on both...

What? His stats so far are better than last years except for FG%.
