Star Stud Proposal

Post#1 » by The Duke » Fri Nov 21, 2008 11:26 am

Roto, standard 9 cat, 10 Teams
In 3rd, but last in FT%

Goal of trade is to improve FT% significantly. Its hard to win a roto league finishing last in any cat.
Wade/Biedrins/Josh Howard/Kaman bringing down my FT%

Eligible players on his end: Kobe, Joe Johnson, Calderon, Camby, Jamison

I would be moving Wade + Biedrins

I would be getting Kobe + Joe Johnson
I would be getting Kobe + Jose Calderon
I would be getting Joe Johnson + Jose Calderon

(order these proposals for me, which, if any, are good/bad for me)

1.)Josh Howard + Biedrins + (try a top 100-110 player) for Jamison and Calderon

Reason: Buy low on Calderon while he is still recovering from his injury. And Josh Howard shall really tempt him. (try trading him after he drops one of his near 30pt performances)

2.)Try Josh Howard + Biedrins + some top 50-100 fantasy player for Kobe

Reason: Buy low on Kobe. At the end of the day he is a top 10 fantasy player.

3.) Wade + Josh Howard + top 80-100 fantasy player for Kobe, Calderon and Joe Johnson

Reason: He's probably frustrated with kobe's performance at this point. Try luring him with this year's fantasy favorite in D-wade.

4.) Biedrins + top 100 fantasy player for Calderon

P.S. Would really help if you can give me the rest of your roster. I can come up with more trades. Another thing is that the reason why I only gave the preferred ranking rather than the name of the player is because I don't think that trading both Kaman and Biedrins is a good idea because you will certainly have a huge drop in your block and rebounding nos. Plus, having either one of them shall help you balance out on the low FG% and high TO nos. of the players you will be receiving.

Why not try to trade fora guy like Kevin Martin. Shoots like 10 FTs per game and is currently hurt. Might be able to get him cheap.

If your only goal is to significantly improve your FT% none of those guys will really help.

Like a previous poster said go after someone whom gets to the line often AND has a high %.

Kevin Martin would be ideal, or to a lesser extent guys like Maggette, Harris, Rip or T. Parker.

All of those guys make a huge impact on FT% because of the volume of FTs they get per game.

The owners of Maggette, Harris, Granger, RIP, Kevin Martin are not budging.... so im prolly gonna have to stick with this trading partner. As such I need to trade for multiple players who can impact my FT.

Im going for the combined effect of trading away my bad FT players for above avg FT players.

He want to trade away 3's/FT for PTS/Rebs so seems like a good trading partner.
