Thank you for your reply ES. Much better (respectable) response from your last one.
I'm definitely not panicking as I'm only a couple games off from the 6th placed team. And as you said, injuries have been a big problem for me. My team is also build for the playoff in terms of schedule, so I expect to have some odd weeks.
My current team:
PG Allen Iverson
SG Andre Iguodala
G Tracy McGrady
SF John Salmons
PF Marcus Camby
F Gerald Wallace
C Amare Stoudemire
C Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Util Wilson Chandler
Util Michael Beasley
BN Richard Hamilton
BN Josh Howard
BN Josh Smith
So I gave up on Monta as I desperately needed some help with all the injuries last week. (Josh x 2 and Tmac) I picked up WIlson last month who's been playing well and getting PT. I wanted to bench Beasley, but Miami is playing 4 games this week, so I had to take a gamble as Hamilton isn't throwing up a "typcial" Hamilton season.
Waiver:
Leandro Barbosa
Anthony Parker
Jarmario Moon
Kevin Love
Raymond Felton
Beno Udrih
Shane Battier
Franciso Garcia
Jeff Green
Mickael Pietrus
Steve Blake
Delonte West
Paul Milsap
Quentin Richardson
Luis Scola
Brook Lopez
So there are some good players out there. But the only player I would consider dropping is probably Hamilton or Beasley. And they both have a decent playoff schedule, so it's a tough call.
The problem with trying to trade Rip, Tmac or even Howard is, they are borderline waiver material. If you look at the list, other GMs are not going to offer anything better than what's out there already. And no one is interested in 2 for 1 deals in a small league. So it's either suck it up and wait till their value goes up, then trade them. (Especially Tmac with his horrible playoff schedule) Or just simply drop and pick up someone from the wire.
Thanks for the help once again. I guess my main point was to show that in a small league, most teams will "look like" they are stacked. But when the league is a weekly change league, bench players become less of an asset. So even though on paper, a team might look bad, when you take away 3 of it's lowest player, they will come out all right, which equates to a competitive league.

You must have traded Artest for Salmons?

I remain wholly unimpressed by Matas and would be very upset not only if we trade up fo him, but if we even draft him at 11

No, I traded Artest for Camby at the beginning of the season. The initial lineup was a mistake. I picked up Salmons off the waiver for Rudy Fernandez.
