Kobe Trade

Post#1 » by xxxSwiZzxxx » Mon Jan 5, 2009 11:31 pm

His: Kobe
My: Baron Davis + Vince Carter

Baron Davis
J.R. Smith
Vince Carter
Andre Iguodala
Rajon Rondo
Rudy Fernandez
Ben Wallace
Yao Ming
Nenad Kristic
Erick Dampier
Gilbert Arenas
Mario Chalmers
Peja Stojakovic

12 team H2H Leage

My record:

FG%: 1-8-0
FT%: 3-6-0
3 PTM: 7-2-0
PTS: 4-5-0
REB: 6-3-0
AST: 7-1-1
STL: 7-2-0
BLK: 7-2-0
TO: 4-4-1

Davis has been killing me in FG% but he's been great with assists and steals. I just really want to bring up my FT and FG percentages, and kobe would definitely do that.

But will giving away both baron & vince hurt my team in the long run? I'm not sure if 2 for 1 trades in a deep league are a good thing or a bad thing.

I'm in 4th place right now and there is a $600 pot riding on the season, any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks.

But do you not think that giving up 2 for 1 in a deep league like this, would hurt me? Esentially i'd be giving up 13 or 14 AST with vince and baron combined..... not to mention the point combination, etc.

how do u guys determine the value in a 2 for 1?

Average trade in my opinion, definitely not great. Davis is injured right now and the games before he has played at a very low level, but if he can turn things around he can definitely become a top 30 player again. Vince has been playing quite good.

I for instance traded Vince Carter and Beno Udrih for Kobe Bryant and Spencer Hawes..

I don't know if it's worth it

I think Davis is liable to go down/rest up to help the Clippers chance in the lottery
BUT I also think Kobe could get some rest with a playoff spot locked up early for the Lakers

The Nets seem like they'll be fighting for a spot, so VC should be an impact player in the playoffs

I guess it'd depend on who was out there on waivers...if it's trash (typical in a deeper league), at minimum request a top 75-100 type player in return along with Kobe
