JO - Trade him or keep him?

Post#1 » by theanimal23 » Sat Jan 17, 2009 1:53 am

JO is a guy who plays a pivotal role for my team. He gets me rebounds and more importantly blocks. Now in the playoffs, I will need every bit of help from JO or a player of his traits to beat two or three teams who would be my stiffest competition.

Due to his unreliable health, I'm considering trade him. Now the player I would shoot for would fill the following role: About 50% FG, 8rpg, and 1.5 blocks.

Is it worth trading JO for Tyson Chandler, who is having a bad year? At least he's healthy, and the Hornets will continually play him as he is their main center in the competitive west. Or is JO my best option moving forward?

What kind of package could JO and Bynum land me? And what kind of player could Bynum land me?

Thanks.

O'Neal staying healthy is a big gamble - but if he can, he can be a top fantasy option at center. He was averaging 18ppg 8rpg 1stl 2bpg on 55% shooting in the 8 games leading up to his injury.

I would look into the possibility of acquiring Brook Lopez. He has been an absolute stud in the blocks cat this year and he fits your 50% 8rpg 1.5bpg mold nicely.

I am totally underwhelmed by Bynum. His rebounding has been atrocious lately. I think Odom may be on the way out of LA before the trade deadline so the potential for more minutes is there. O'Neal has already missed a lot of games this year and will take awhile to get back into game shape. For these reasons you probably won't be able to get anything super if you package them - at least at this point.
