Best Fantasy League?

Post#1 » by Yell_42 » Sat Feb 28, 2009 12:16 pm

I have been playing HoopsSports the last few seasons, and it is awesome. Anyone else play that league?

Yahoo is boring as hell, I dont know how anyone can play it.

Well, for starters there are 82 games. So theres a heap of action.

But the thing that sets it apart from any other league is the scoring system used. Its like you are playing a real NBA game.

I never understood why people play Yahoo. If some teams play more than others in a week, you are at a serious advantage/disadvantage. There is just nothing interesting about the Yahoo league at all. it is slow as hell, what is their, one game per week?

And its just accumulated stats. There is no reward for efficiency, while in HoopSports you will find a thing called FPPM (Fantasy Points Per Minute) is a huge part of a teams success.

Its hard to explain just how awesome is it unless you experience it yourself. The league I am in is a 22 team league, 12 man rosters. Let me tell you its a challenge to build a deep roster cos there's not much on the Free Agent list. And sadly for me I have lost KG and Bynum, but am still putting up a show in the first round thanks, as their leftover minutes have gone to Jason Thompson and Javale Mcgee who are playing ok.

In summary - the draft, the trading, the scoring system, the voting and the amount of games played make it the best fantasy league.

Hoops.sports is very underrated(actually it is partly their fault since they dont advertise their website very well)

82-games schedule and fppm is nice novelties and it is definitely more dynamic than a standard yahoo league.

However hoops.sports.ws was shut down two years ago and it looks like it has been mismanaged a little bit since then. IMO that format has a good upside to be one of the main fantasy basketball providers around the web with a more developed interface and better marketing/customer care.

I'm not bored with Yahoo per se, but might have to check that out. Sounds interesting.
