8 Player Trade- Thoughts? (LeBron)

Post#1 » by RealSuperfan » Tue Feb 24, 2009 6:15 pm

LeBron/Robinson/Brewer/Peja FOR my Mayo/Marion/Smith/Jackson

10 Team, H2H, Standard 9 CAT, not a keeper league

I'm chasing this guy for the last play off spot so if I lose on this trade I can kiss my play off hopes goodbye.

Can you post the rest of your roster? From the first glance, I think you are overpaying for LBJ.

My roster:

G- Mayo
G- D WIlliams

giving up a lot. I'd keep stephen jackson and maybe josh smith if you think he can turn it around.

For now Smith's FT% and lack of rebounds are killing teams.

But if you're getting Lebron + Nate then it'd be good. Maybe a nate+lebron for mayo/marion plus one of either SJax or Smoove would be a good trade.

+1

The second trade is even worse than the first one. I think you could try a different package without Nate since Nate is playing really well right now but it's unlikely that he will be able to sustain those kind of production. With a different package, you won't be paying for a premium Nate and able to nab LBJ without giving up too much.

Also, keep in mind that CAV might rest LBJ comes fantasy playoff time.

Thanks for the input guys.

I posted this on another forum and the people who replied said I got the better end of the deal as this person is probably banking on Marion and Smith playing better down the stretch.

So, anyone else as I'm confused at this point.

If you're banking on him trying to get Marion and Smoove then why not counter-offer a deal based on that?

Like I said above, Mayo/Marion/Smoove for Bron/Nate is a fair deal. Lebron/Thornton might not be too bad as well, I'm just not a big fan of Thornton's game.

Just don't deal both SJax and Smoove.

Ideally, you shouldn't trade Smith since you're a little thin up front and 2 of your big men (Aldridge/Boozer) don't really block a lot of shots. That all depends on what you think of Smith though.

Extract Jackson from your side of the deal and thronton or scola from the other side of the deal and I'd pull the trigger.

I'm reading some opinions that are conservative or hawkish in trying to get more. This is an easy deal to pull the trigger on.

Robinson is scoring like a mad man and Marion is having a down year. Thornton and Scola are going to be getting a lot of minutes. LBJ is obviously the crown jewel of that trade.

You pull the trigger on that before he comes to his senses.

The deal is not bad in itself but last month S-jax was the 5th best player in fantasy basketball(even better than Bron) so if he can somehow manages to keep s-jax in his team,it would be very good.

Otherwise I dont see a problem in dealing overrated fantasy player Mayo, underachieving forwards Marion and Smith.

If the deal is with Jackson,I'd try to replace Thornton with someone else as I dont think his game is very fantasy friendly at all(shaky fg%,no three's and minimal contribution in defensive stats)
